I don't plan on running it as presented though it could be fun to run once in a while.

I expect THIS to be the standard build. Fast, good cooling, 352/370 armor, max jets...

But that's just a tall and easier to shoot Jenner...

Something like this is what I'd assume to become the main build. Changing the ERLL to LL should heat prove to be an issue.

Top builds will likely be the 6 mplas or one (or both) of the following:

SPARKY - Slower, 2x lpas
SPARKY - max engine, 2x llas

Heat is an issue if you make it one. Given the speed you shouldn't ever have any problem using cover to cool off unless you're brawling a light mech which will likely have similar heat issues.

I almost want to use my griffin again.

With almost 50% more armor and better cooling.

It's more than 50% taller than the Jenner though, that is a huge factor.

It's a factor, but not a huge one. Yes, it means you can't squeeze into some of the smaller spaces, and need larger building s and hills to use as cover. But being taller isn't nearly as much a factor as width is. One does not often miss a target in this game by aiming too high, you miss because they ran to one side or the other and you couldn't track them. When the Shadowhawks were teased, people said they'd be DoA because of their height. Do you know what wasn't a factor once the mechs hit live play? Their height.

I actually like the look of this hero. I normally would have preferred a ballistic Griffin, but this seems to work fairly okay in its own way. One fantasy I have is running 2 LL + 4 ML, and I've always wished I could do that with a Shadow Hawk. I'm actually considering buying this hero (only other hero I've ever had is the Meta Slayer).

Well, I guess we'll see. I know the 2x ERLL + 4x ML build works very well on the Stormcrow/Timberwolf, so I don't see why it wouldn't work here. Heat and range issues aside.

Now if only Inner Sphere beams didn't blow every goat in Creation...

Really...even post-nerf, Clan beams just make IS beams sit in the corner feeling bad. As a fan of beam weapons this is great for me since I can finally run beam-centric 'Mechs that aren't embarrassing, but it does make life difficult for poor Sparky.

Hmmm... so it's a Quickdraw but 5 tons lighter and better hitboxes. Still, I may have to buy it just because I absolutely love the Griffin.
