So I tried to get back into MechWarrior Online today after several months, and I made a fresh observation. The position of the target info is really uncomfortable and sometimes painful to glance at.

I've gotten into the healthy habit of moving my eyes instead of my entire fat head to get faster and better looks at HUD info, but glancing at anything at the top (but not the bottom) of my screen too frequently makes my eye sockets ache for several minutes afterward, and frequent glances at the target info are necessary to fight effectively. I would love it if the HUD was a bit more modular, so that I could swap the target info and weapons info to be comfortable, like the layout of MechWarrior 2 and 4.

Don't sit 2 inches from your monitor, see if that helps.

Have you tried tilting your head slightly more upward so that your looking a bit more down with your eyes normally and not up as much, consequently? It may help, since even if they do decide to make it modular, it'll be a while and this may bide or help to bide you over.

Are you suffering from eye strain from overly bright screens? Look into downloading f.lux. It reduces the colour temperature of your screen based on the time and date and your location (dims when the sun sets, returns to normal after sun rise).

Is your screen too high? Your eyes should apparently be looking at the top portion of the screen in your normal position.
