It can't be stopped, it can't be reasoned with.
NOTIFICATIONS WILL BLINK!!!
I can't ....resist....the blue shiny.....
The notifications have gone into overdrive since Unit creation, telling you when everyone has logged on, or off, or coughed a little or farted, etc.
OK, I'm kidding, but seriously a way to filter what we do and do not want to have blinking would be "nice to have".
Obviously there are more pressing issues, but just thought I'd toss this out there.

it is a pain, there needs to be 4 check boxes, tell me when "friend invite" "you have a message" "group invite" and "friend/unit member logged on/off"
yes(check), yes(check), yes(check), NO(atom bomb)
i love the guys in my unit, but i do no need to know evertime one of them logs on or off

What's also overpowered are the stupid popup windows telling you that you unlocked something successfully. I also wish I could just disable the popups for yes/no confirmation (I'm generally good at not clicking the wrong button).

There is actually a check box for achievement notification popups in the options now...
I was amazed myself, however, you can disable them now...!?
