Since Russ stated they are trying to "start fresh" after separating from IGP. I suggest bringing back 8v8 and restoring the game engine back to closed beta quality graphics and performance. If I remember correctly 12 v 12 was pushed onto PGI by IGP. Also I would like to suggest removing ghost heat, gauss charge and other needlessly complicated balancing strategies and instead balance using simpler methods.

I would leave it at 12 v 12. That is a pretty good feature, I think.
Other than that, I would throw my weight behind the requests to remove Ghost Heat and some of the esoteric balancing that has taken place. I would also advocate the Closed Beta graphics quality along with a return to Predator Heat Vision, and the restoration of our knock-down mechanics. I really miss knocking Mechs down and getting knocked down myself. It lent some realism and a bit more zing to the game. Now we just rubberband all over the place when we bump each other, with one lucky pilot getting tossed behind the other one for a well-placed backstab.
Also, can we have our JJs restored to normality and the hill climb nerf removed? Together, they make traversing terrain very aggravating at times. The JJs no longer have a functional purpose, being so underpowered as to be rendered incapable of lifting some Mechs over obstacles or enemy Mechs. Our BattleMechs also walk; they don't roll. Yet, many terrain types that should be easily navigable stymie our Mechs because the mechanics treat our efforts to traverse the terrain as being akin to rolling along it. Ankle high rocks shouldn't stop our Mechs - we should just step on or over them without a speed reduction. Instead, the game treats it like as though our Mechs were trucks that have to rock climb over them, or cars that just high-centered themselves.
