Haven't posted here since 2012, all I can say is...  You guys broke the rules, and now have the gall to complain to the community you've been pissing off since you came out of Closed Beta when your actions finally have consequences?

I hope you're not wondering why people are savoring this.

Also, about my refund?

Edit: Happy to see so many Founder's tags. Brings bag fond memories.
It is amazing to see the outpouring of so many lost members of the community. It is stunning in the negligence that they could have been turned away so badly and an act of sheer ineptitude that have brought them back.
Just imagine if pgi had actually done the right thing and accepted people and the "negativity" and fell on the sword and made real and actual changes to staff and the game.
I just dont think they have the conscious ability to do so and sadly this is the last hurrah of the founders instead of the awakening and renewal it could have been.PGI you played this 100% wrong when it could have been right and gained so much more.
Good night and good luck to you all.....................................................

The irony of this. All you would have to do is actually work with the community, instead of against.

The poll linked in my sig brings back memories. At the start of open beta only 20% of people liked the Mech XP system. Nowadays they'd be lucky to have that many people like PGI.

I will be sorry if I leave MWO, but I will do my best to bring my friends along to a new game. Our regiment has lasted since 96, we can wait around another 15 years to play another Mechwarrior game.

You don't need to wait even 10 years today bro. We already have better MWLL game and its assets can be ported and mixed with models from MWO, all we need is to burn down PGI. Warhamer 40000 style :]

The ironic thing is that if they had just worked with the community rather than against it; we would totally be on board for their new project. At this point I'd rather throw other space sim games that are looking for pre-release funding another $100 than give it to this developer.

At least the Transverse package comes with a free digital download of the game. Now that is something. Except that you first have to pay. But then it is free.

How Microsoft has not pulled the plug on PGI, I will never understand. It's either they don't give a F, or no one has delegated this to them yet. I really hope MS cares enough to investigate hard evidence of poor development and community relationship that they'll eventually pull this franchise away from PGI. It just can't be realistic to leave Mechwarrior in the hands of PGI for 10+ years.

Got two replies from MS already........admittedly, both generic responses ... but we'll see.....

PGI is getting off easy, this could have been a real feeding frenzy but instead we of the island have chosen to take the higher road and treat this like having a beer and darts at the local pub. Well done everyone who doesn't work at PGI.

And if you are really lucky and they manage to hit their funding goals you might be able to do such amazing things as...

1. Fly the ship in space.
2. Configure what weapons you have.
3. Fire those weapons.
4. Mine minerals.

Granted all of those are different ever increasing funding goals.. but still.. the sky is the limit... if properly funded.

For those still playing, I suggest The Next Great Competition.

The Great Golden Whale Hunt.

“There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.”

Your mission is to band together and find every single gold 'mech you can and kill it mercilessly. You get extra points if they are on your team! Post screenshots to record and verify kills, the person with the most at the time of their banning wins!!!!

What do you win? NEVER HAVING TO PLAY MW:O EVER AGAIN! Which you shouldn't be doing anyway but go out with a bang!

(Google'd that image....the time stamp on it is quite...ironic.)

Our society shows its ineptitude with its demand for people to resign or be fired from positions when they make mistakes. People make mistakes, a lot of them. This situation is something that can be learned from and not repeated.

Consider that Niko, had probably been moderating a lot of inflammatory posts for the extended weekend(or longer). That is a lot of negativity to absorb without time to relax.... pretty much a recipe for making a judgement error.

More so when you consider the incredible crassness of having a so-called professional developer compare it's disenfranchised community with lowlifes making death-threats and harassing them on the internet. Or when said developer cannot show the basic integrity to admit to having lied (repeatedly) and still refuse a refund when those disenfranchised simply want their money back without any form of forum drama.

Niko's moderation has gone from Draconian to an outright power-trip, and is so blatantly two-faced when citing the ToS of this site while flagrantly ignoring the ToS of others and then has the audacity to rile up support against said website as if MWO fans are his personal entourage of Keyboard Ninjas to attack teh evul Redditz.

Utterly laughable what happened to this place in 18 months of pure neglect.

Sickening to think sycophants giving rousing applause every time PGI update an XML file with new values as if it was some kind of Herculean effort while some college kid is building a Sci-Fi Space Game on his own. <-See Limit Theory
