MechWarrior 2

Followed by the first X-Com.

Not the dumbed down, recycled small combat areas of Enemy Unknown.

To many to mention them all. I don't have an alltime favorite. I simply like a game, don't like a game or I am indifferent about it.

So let me just list a few in no specific order:
Masters of Orion 2
Ultima Underworld
Starcraft
X-Wing
TIE Fighter
Wing Commander
Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit (the first one from 1998, also known as Need for Speed III)
Settlers 2
Pirates
Monkey Island
Zack McCracken
World Games
Tetris
PacMan
Baldurs Gate
Homeworld
Mirrors Edge
SimCity 2000
Nexus - The Jupiter Incident
Ascendancy
Dark Forces 2 - Jedi Knight
World in Conflict
Total Annihilation
Mechwarrior 2 - Mercenaries
MechCommander

I've always been fascinated with flight, so flight sims/arcade style shooters have been at the top.

1. Red Baron II/3D

2. MechWarrior 3

3. Star Wars: Rouge Squadron

4. Star Wars: Starfighter

5: Star Wars: Rebellion (not a sim or a shooter, but a resource management game)

6. Mechwarrior 4

I also like regular flight sims, but they're in a class to themselves.

Hmm, PC based games....

Max Payne 1&2 were the first that came to mind. Seldom can one make a shooter "graceful" but Remedy managed to do that perfectly. They're also good at crafting extremely enthralling atmosphere.

Then there was Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. One of the first modern military shooters and some of its level designs are pretty sweet. Sadly Novalogic is basically a husk but well, I guess CoD really took the rein since CoD4.

Borderlands 1&2

Baldur's Gate series, 1 and 2 with all the expansions.

Great storyteling, great characters. Who doesn't remember Minsc? Folks are still shouting his quotes in /all chat all the time.

Edit - and Sid Meier's Civilization series... though I haven't played any of them that have come out in the last 15 years.

2nd Edit - KotOR. enough said.

Baldur's Gate series does a very good job at telling story, but I find the replay-ability rather low.
Hence I choose Icewind Dale over Baldur's Gate on my list.
