It's 15 pages so you missed it I think. Council is a bad term; someone said a better term is 'task force'.
We discuss the changes we want as a community. We have a task force that collates that down into something readable. Then we discuss/vote on the ideas that distills down to.
That's the simple version - just elected people to take all the piles of mostly random **** we spew and refine it down into something useable that we can then vote on. Also have them debate it in a closed setting, so we can see a sentient discussion of the topic without weeding through 20 pages of wasted electrons.
You'll speak for yourself. We all will. Having some trusted, intelligent folks help refine that down is a good thing.
yeah I just saw the post by Russ, so I guess this is going to be a thing. We'll see how it goes.

I would like to be identified as a media contributor please.
And my unit would be Night Watch, and am a participant of the (moderately) competitive community.

If I were to pick a group of 5, I would pick the following.
Aduvio - He plays with the Lords, and thus can offer a voice for their group, who consist of talented players who understand the game very well. He also brings the added benefit of representing light mech pilots, who are extremely under-represented in the overall population.
JMan5 - I think JMan plays for some competitive group? I know him primarily from pugging, and he's a good pilot and understands the game. He also almost exclusively plays a hunchback, giving him insight into playing not only the under-represented medium weight class, but a mech which is generally not considered a powerhouse to begin with. As such, I think he offers some interesting insights. He's also always seemed fairly cool and level headed.
The Magician - I've known him going back to MW4 competitive planetary leagues. He represents another one of the top tier competitive groups. As such, he understands high level competition (not only as it exists today, but as it existed in prior incarnations of Mechwarrior), as well as the fundamental game mechanics and how they impact play. He also has been around enough that he's mature enough to offer well reasoned insight.
Amaris the Usurper - Not particularly prolific on the boards, but the posts he has made were of EXTREMELY high quality. He's the guy who proved conclusively that SRM's were broken way back in the day, when the devs themselves couldn't figure it out. He has a background in scientific application of mathematics and statistics, and has a very thoughtful and methodological approach to things. He's also an extremely talented pilot.
PringlesPCant - This guy is a Goon, and while that may turn off many folks, he's written some of the most indepth and insightful posts about what mechwarrior could be. For those who are not familiar, I urge you to read some of these posts.

The guy has good ideas, and presents them well. He'd be an asset (if he still plays, which is a big IF).
Vassago - Kind of a wildcard, like Charlie on It's always Sunny. He alternates wildly between irrational madman and well spoken analyst of the game. He also represents a fairly large group of players in KONG.
Asmudius Heng - I don't always agree with his ideas, but he's another player who has been around for a long time. He's another holdover from the old MW4 competitive scene, and has decent insight into what kinds of things can be done in such an environment.
DV McKenna - Another old MW4 player, who I believe currently plays with the Snow Ravens? Although the snow ravens may no longer be around.. An extremely solid competitive team though, and McKenna's always been cool and level headed.

Spoken like the truly competent person you are; who also obviously knows how painful committee work ends up being. Don't forget you add your name to that list if you're going to put in Amaris or Pringles. Those reasons are also why Koniving and Bill would be good adds.

Well, other folks are free to nominate me, but I feel it's kind of tacky to nominate myself. Even though I am clearly the most awesome.
Also, I had forgotten DV McKenna, so I added him to my list.

- Homeless Bill
- Koniving
- Adiuvo or JaegerXII, don't care which. Honestly, anyone HoL decided to make their rep would probably be fine.
- Bishop Steiner, mostly because he seems to be decent at communicating.
- One of the Stock Mech Monday guys like TigerLilly or Raythe or whomever else is helping run that. Represents the organized and lore/TT fan side of things. I'd let them pick someone to be their rep.
- Another comp-play team leader (don't remember all the names, and honestly don't have much of a pref. Maybe 228th or one of the other groups with a significant number of non-North American players)
That would, to me, be a decent cross section of some of the larger 'factions' on the forums that don't seem prone to massive drama.

I suspect someone's already nominated Roland, but I'll also vote him up. Excellent choice.
The funny thing is there's obviously 20 to 30 people here who we can't really go wrong with choosing.
The better question to put to each should really be:
Which of them is both willing and able to commit the time to tedious and usually unrewarding committee work, where large sections of the player base are going to be angry with you at any one time.
