I have no practical experience, in my business I am a dictator, and if elected I will promptly resign.
Also, we can find out who, if anyone, voted for me and ban them from further participation.

Heck, I took off outta here like the devil hisself was chasing me.
Trying to represent this community? Seems about as good an idea as climbing into a bag of cats and jumping in a river.
Oh I understand. That also doesn't change the fact that you have the street cred, temperament, and activity level to actually be one of the best fits for the position.

Yeah, I was....well known on the Yahoo Music forums for about 3-4 years. Even better than here. Was kind one of the top Rock and Heavy Metal "authorities" and such in the community. Plenty of street cred, if such a thing exists on the intrawebz. And the most notable thing about it is all the little Lockys it pulls out of the woodwork, who think if they can "take a shot at the big dog" it will give them some sort of instant cred.
You'd think I would have learned my lesson.... and just toiled on in obscurity here, I mean I mostly started in the Art Forum, back when it had more than 2 visitors a day. Stupid passion for all things battletech drew me in. But I ain't NEVER gonna let myself get in that deep again. Too much hassle, too much annoyance for something that is supposed to be entertainment.
Like Lukoi says, it just get brutal. No thanks.
Besides, I already get singled out enough in drops........
Just Imagine since whatever is decided here, there will still be scores of people pissed at how it is resolved if it ain't done "their way". And I would be one of those held to blame. Screw that. Don't need all the extra focus fire and TKs, no sir.
Let me just tinker my non meta builds and have fun, eh?

Someone would get shanked before any real discussion happened. I'm picturing broken bottles and '*****! I WILL CUT YOU!' before they're done getting seated.

Sorry, no way we can allow Wispy, Audivio, Heimdelight or anyone in their clan on the "council".
They would simply LORD it over us.

If I were to pick a group of 5, I would pick the following.
Aduvio - He plays with the Lords, and thus can offer a voice for their group, who consist of talented players who understand the game very well. He also brings the added benefit of representing light mech pilots, who are extremely under-represented in the overall population.
JMan5 - I think JMan plays for some competitive group? I know him primarily from pugging, and he's a good pilot and understands the game. He also almost exclusively plays a hunchback, giving him insight into playing not only the under-represented medium weight class, but a mech which is generally not considered a powerhouse to begin with. As such, I think he offers some interesting insights. He's also always seemed fairly cool and level headed.
The Magician - I've known him going back to MW4 competitive planetary leagues. He represents another one of the top tier competitive groups. As such, he understands high level competition (not only as it exists today, but as it existed in prior incarnations of Mechwarrior), as well as the fundamental game mechanics and how they impact play. He also has been around enough that he's mature enough to offer well reasoned insight.
Amaris the Usurper - Not particularly prolific on the boards, but the posts he has made were of EXTREMELY high quality. He's the guy who proved conclusively that SRM's were broken way back in the day, when the devs themselves couldn't figure it out. He has a background in scientific application of mathematics and statistics, and has a very thoughtful and methodological approach to things. He's also an extremely talented pilot.
PringlesPCant - This guy is a Goon, and while that may turn off many folks, he's written some of the most indepth and insightful posts about what mechwarrior could be. For those who are not familiar, I urge you to read some of these posts.

The guy has good ideas, and presents them well. He'd be an asset (if he still plays, which is a big IF).
Vassago - Kind of a wildcard, like Charlie on It's always Sunny. He alternates wildly between irrational madman and well spoken analyst of the game. He also represents a fairly large group of players in KONG.
Asmudius Heng - I don't always agree with his ideas, but he's another player who has been around for a long time. He's another holdover from the old MW4 competitive scene, and has decent insight into what kinds of things can be done in such an environment.
DV McKenna - Another old MW4 player, who I believe currently plays with the Snow Ravens? Although the snow ravens may no longer be around.. An extremely solid competitive team though, and McKenna's always been cool and level headed.
Thanks for the vote Roland, though I doubt I am well know enough to qualify ... Though those who do not make the list I feel would still be good to be involved on the periphery as reviewers or something before any kind of public release of ideas etc
If this can work I really hope a players council can continue to represent people from all spectrums

Quite honestly, I only ever 50% agree with any individual here, including myself.
Oh... And I suggest reading "Letting go of the words" and taking advice from it while formatting things for your fellow users to read. No point in having the best solution if 5% of the userbase reads it, and the rest just vote for the other guy because he said everything necessary in two paragraphs.
