Ok, Final count done.

I still need volunteers to doublecheck my numbers, as they are nearly 100% guaranteed to include mistakes, given the... topic rich discussion within the thread :)

You could not pay me to sift through 46 pages of MWO forum material. I do accept clan packages though.

It probably would have been better to limit the votes to ten or so unless youre doing another round. You have a hell of a lot of two votes that just get thrown away because of how many people that were nominated and those votes would add up to a LOT

outside of the top ten, you have 119 votes just floating around right now

NOPE

Gotta know yer EVE history.

The council was formed as a watchdog group to go to Iceland and make sure CCP werent cheating in their own game again as a measure of trust building after the T20 scandal. Then whewn that was deemed impossible, and over the course of a few years, it became what it is now. Your position that it was created because CCP started to trust their players is INCREDIBLY wrong

Quoted for truth.

Noticed that some people nominated Vassago Rain. Unfortunately he is banned from the forums.

Oh gawd. Clearly the Original Forumwarriors should become the MWO Player Council.

EVE Is a sandbox MMO of a very unique design focused on consequental PVP competition. This gives such a council that kind of a dynamic, this won't be the case really for MWO aside from issues like IS vs Clan balancing which PGI can probably ride roughshot over.

Which is why a coincil like the one in EVE would only WORK in EVE. Copy/pastaing that here would be worse than bad

A simple statement. Mechwarrior Online is not EVE.

As an illustration of my concerns, look back at all of the derision aimed at my opinion. This to me is a clear indicator of the precise problem I am speaking to. If you all were truly open to the ideas proposed by others you would have asked questions rather than try to drown out a voice you do not agree with. My point is adequately proven.

Also, I understood full well what this thread is about and that is why my plea is to PGI.

So, yeah, read every single word that was directed at you since your post...

Derision, really? Hyperbolic much?
They disagreed with you, and pointed out that this is, in fact, sort of PGIs idea.
That's not deriding you, that's telling you that they think you're wrong.
I know in today's touchy-feely world where everyone gets a trophy for showing up, that it may feel like you're being attacked if someone isn't agreeing with you, but this is the real world, not academia where SJWs protect every wittle peeling as each is precious and unique as a snowflake.

THAT is derision. See the difference?

Okay everybody.

I want to try and move this concept forward, obviously this is a tough one with no shortage of ideas. There are a decent number of people out there that still are opposed to the concept or at least are somewhat fearful of the outcome.

I want to again assure everyone that were going to take this nice and slow and see if we can't create something that works for MWO. I won't go out and commit to a system that is already out there like say EVE, perhaps we end up there perhaps we don't. I am more interested in finding a nice balance between PGI and it's community. That is the starting point I think we all agree.

Ideally I think it should be a small manageable number, 12 is likley at the very far end of managable, but we also want to make sure everyone is represented.

The only idea I have currently is to take this thread, invite everyone that has been nominated to a teamspeak server. The first order of business will be discussing together how we can widdle that group down a manageable size, vote on that group of players for perhaps a certain "term"?

Once they are in place we can focus on our first Subject whether that remains ECM or perhaps a softball or two out the gate.

Thoughts?
