The only build I've found that works with the Nova is 6 ERML + 4 MG. It's easily my least favorite clan mech.

The MGs aren't your primary weapon - the lasers are. Don't worry about closing quickly to use the MGs - they'll come into play later, when there's enemy mechs with bits of armor missing wandering about. Your job, in that Nova, is to find them, and put them out of their misery.

I'm used to play Hunchies (very similar style in most variants) and I find the Nova to be really durable in comparison.

With both Mechs it's mandatory to avoid drawing attention since most players know that you can dish out huge ammounts of damage but can be taken down quite fast if focused on.

Stick with Assaults (ECM Atlas paired with a Nova is deadly) try to stay out of sight and pick your targets carefully either finishing off wounded opponents or aiding your teammates by melting armor off their targets / taking out weapon arms.

And as Asyres mentioned, later in a match you can start to deliver some coups de grace.

I still use my Nova Prime + 4 MG's it works, but is way harder to paly than other mechs. Just volleyfire one arm, and single fire as much lasers of the second as your heat scale allows you.

Ht and run is the most important. But Nova kinda plays hard because your mech is very much a Papermech. You need quite a lot intuition what the battle is doing to appear at the right place in the right time. Otherwise you are shot too easily.

Don't run into MG distance onbigger mechs, they are only good for flanking or backattacks, or when suddenly a really damage mech appears in front of you. And they are good for fighting vs lights trying to circle you.

To your builds:

don't use tc3, use a tc 1 for the extra critchance, anything else isn't really needed.
1t of MG ammo should be enough, use the rest for heatsinks, 4 heatsinks make a vital differnece here.

this build should work, but the firepower is quite low compared to what other medium mechs can do, but at all a proper build for what you cna do with the Nova when you don't want constant heat trouble.

I guess this is crap, way too less ammo for 2 UAC's, also you need to cosntantly aim at the target to fire the AC's, but Nova is not a stare at your opponent mech.

should be a working mixed build, but lacks a bit punch especially when other mechs can do the same with having a lot better profile.

If you like PPC's and can handle them, this should work, and even be a proper poptarder, but with the current PPC speed I don't like that build at all. It doesn't turns out that good and reliable.

I felt the biggest problem with the Nova was its large hitboxes, weapon convergence and low slung arms.
Oneside wonder is a try on a build to circumvent some of this. Either use dual ppc, dual large pulse or tripple ER Large Laser and stay at range.
