Recently, Russ stated he'd like to see more options for monetisation/microtransactions in-game.
First, I'd like to propose lowering the pricepoint of Cockpit items and paints.
The problem with cockpit items is they exist as a means of personalising your mech, but they are only visible to the player and anyone spectating them. This is, at best, only half the players in game.
I propose the addition of purchasable alternate geometry kits for the mechs. Similar to the Founders, Phoenix and Invasion packs, these kits subtly change the outward appearance of each mech. I personally recommend remodelling the aforementioned kits to becoming exclusive versions of these geometry kits.
I imagine these kits being interchangeable between mechs of the same chassis, and applied to a mech by location, (ie: CT,LT,RT,LA,RA,LL,RL,HD) Also, some would come with exclusive (optional) paint schemes (as would the packs converted from Founders, Phoenix, Invasion)
Functionally, these kits would be much like the armour customisation in the Halo game franchise.
Finally, an idea might be to have missile doors on those mechs currently fitted with them to be optional geometry, with the added quirks associated with them. I will admit, I have doubts about this last proposal.

I would pay for body kits.

I would also recommend color changes: changes for the HUD, for the missile streams, for the lasers, etc.

Generally, I agree, but I'd be concerned at not being able to identify the weapon used in this case.

I would definitly shell out more if paint/camo was cheaper, and i'd probably go nuts for body-kits.

that said: the art involved in the body kits would probably set the date for them way back. i mean they're still working on the pass-throughs for all the older mechs to get weapons to display what's equipped. imagine adding unique geometry items for each mech, let alone multiples for each mech and/or for each mech location (otherwise its just "to body-kit or not to body-kit")

let them focus on CW first, and maps and game modes for 2015 but 2016 looks open

What weapon, exactly? Lasers, it would not particularly matter. Missiles you can identify just by the way they are fired. Besides, who does not want black PPC's like this: Posted Image

Anything messes with the colour of PPCs, (at least beyond some shade of blue) and I walk out!
