What made you decide to go sword-and-board (i.e. all weapons on one side) with a nova?

i did hav them in the left but i wanted the ppcs closer together and i can use my entire left side as a shield

and i was nowhere near out of bounds thats the area by spawn

Yet those crates out in the water are right by the edge of the map, just saying looks like an out of bounds to me, it never says you were killed by out of bounds it always lists your own name same as a overheating.

no arm or leg armor and a couple of tons unused on a mech with a whole 23% heat efficiency?

In some maps, the boundaries really are way too close to some common movement areas. Some players even game opponents into fighting against those spots.

And yes, that's what an out-of-bounds death looks like. (I don't know what an instakill due to clipping looks like, so maybe that, otherwise).

yep if you go out of bounds for to long you just blow up

if you hold down the override key you just blow up also

Ah yes, the old trick-them-into-OOB ploy. Used to do that a lot in my Commando on Forest back in CB.

Kind of embarrassing to fall for that in a Nova, it takes no more than two seconds to get back in the playable area from there. If it were an assault mech you'd only have about two seconds to respond and get the hell out, but you probably shouldn't be out there in an assault anyway, the crates would block your fire but won't fully protect you.

There is no mystery. As stated numerous times, you cored yourself with heat or were 10 centimeters into out of bounds. Considering where your screenshot was, the second one seem highly probably.
