Allow me to first explain that I have only been a mech warrior since November of 2013 so my opinion may bare less weight, aside from agitating some devs. None the less I have been very consistent with regular play and support, but this challenge to kill devs seems like a near mockery of any intellect in our community. In a near year of regular play I have seen 2 devs in total. Does PGI truely expect anybody to take admiration toward this challenge with knowing there is the faintest, and most minuscule of chances to accomplish such a challenge due to the lack of dev activity. If so then you at PGI are proving more of your foolishness through lack of common sense. Ever get tired of making empty promises and treating you're community like ignorant Thebes?

You are getting upset over something so minor. If you see them, kill them. If not, you're playing just like usual. You aren't required to do anything exceptional this weekend. They are more like random encounters than a fixed boss fight.

Most people these days are being used to automated events that everyone can participate in with minimal effort and earn a prize. This is one of those old-fashioned events run by people (and their job isn't to run events, it's to design the game so this is extra effort on their part). You saw two devs but you didn't manage to land a killing shot so you still had a chance at it. No one ever said everyone would win something in this event. I don't think anyone twisted your arm to play 24/7 hunting them down either.

Would be nice to at least see them though, I've been in countless games over the course of the event, and I've yet to see a single dev out playing.

I think people under estimate how many people play this game.

No, the idea is to give away a rare, and unique cockpit item for doing something that happens rarely. It's not a challenge (look at your stats/challenge page), it's a reward/achievement for doing something that most players haven't done since the devs represent a minuscule percentage of the player population.

Do you get angry there is an achievement for getting all 12 kills in a match, Or ones like liquid metal? Just play the game, if it happens, it happens.

You don't have to read into every little thing they do. Just play the game. Unless of course you have some other agenda in mind. I don't see how this gets in the way playing the game. : /

Since the event started I maybe put in 36+ hours of gameplay, drop after drop after drop, no devs. Yet I keep seeing in chat, "Saw one 5 matches ago," - "Saw one two matches ago," etc. Poor luck I guess if it is a small team I doubt I will ever see a dev during the event, Best part about the event imo is the discount on colours....

Personally, this event should actually be ongoing indefinitely. Considering the rareness of seeing a dev, coupled with the prize (forget the MC prize, just the hanging medallion) is far more fair than "a weekend" of devs when they decide to show up.

Well, I was in the same boat. I play quite a bit and I rarely see Devs. I have over 8k drops and prior to this weekend I could count the number of times I had seen Dev on one hand.

On Sat, I saw a lot of Paul when I solo dropped. I didnt see any Devs when I team dropped, but I heard they were there playing. At least this weekend didnt feel like I was waiting for the Glowing Black Stone to drop in the Qeynos Hills.

As mentioned by the Devs, this was a lighthearted challenge to give us a break after so many tougher and more intense challenges. They have another big challenge planned for next weekend apparently (if you believe Russ, and pending a potential delay). Meanwhile, have fun with this. If you see a Dev, great! If you don't, well you're not really missing out on much.

Bottom line is that in no way does PGI view this weekend event as being as meaningful and deep as the other challenges. We actually were close to having no event this weekend since we had a lot of them recently and have a really big one planned for next week.

Also yes people really underestimate the number of player playing with forum goers making up a very small percentage.

We has been 123 Dev's killed so far, so I expect we will hit around 200 by end of event.

Next weekend is a much bigger event

"Also yes people really underestimate the number of player playing with forum goers making up a very small percentage."

What?

The forum warriors aren't the be all / end all voices and the majority of the players?

Inconceivable! :D

I see tons of names in matches that aren't here raging and QQ'ing away in this toxic quagmire.

They're playing the game.

I thought this was a great balance: Something cool in a get-it-if-you-do kindof way, but not a big challenge. My breath is caught and I am excited for next weekend. This stuff really helps, Russ, keep it up!
