What I want to know is why they are using the IS designations for these mechs when the previous ones used the clan designations...

I'm already getting three free mechs one being "The" (gota have a STRONG EMPHASIS on the The) King Crab.

Hmmmmmm. I have the funds though I told myself I would not buy any more packs as good as it is. Russ if I buy the top notch pack in this wave can I get the Flea?

This is an outstanding 2nd Clan pack. The timing is good too.

Can you atleast change it so you can buy any of the wave 1 packs (aka I bought a 4 mech la carte which was ALOT OF $$) and be able to get top teir wave 2 to get the MADDOG? I just think your really selling yourself short not letting people get the maddog unless you already bought the wave 1 max pack. Also MADDOG is the only mech I care about. its alittle messed up I cannot even have a chance to buy it unless I rebuy what 4 of my mechs?

LoL Valk, I know that this is killing you, of all people! Russ did already say earlier in the thread that they are working on a way for players to upgrade from their ala carte packages from wave 1 so that they can get their maddog with the early release.

oh, and "hi bro!" ;)

Thats funny, as soon as I saw the Mad Dog, I thought of Valk, even though I hadn't played with/against him in over 10yrs.

Actually, a third. The Loki Prime comes standard with ECM, BAP, and a Targeting Computer. I am considering the addition of a fast Heavy mech with ECM to be one of the main reasons we are seeing ECM brought back up as a discussion point, as this has rather drastic effects on the game.

There is already an Assault mech with ECM, what's the big deal?

Wave 1 used the IS designations as well. The page is still up, check it out.

The only thing is they are using the proper name for the Mad Dog.

YES! Totally called all the mechs in Wave 2. Except the Hellbringer. But the Mad Dog..... looks like we won't see many of the Invasion variants running around. I have time, I'll wait for the CBill release

That Gargoyle is going to hilarious, an 80 ton assault mech running around at 93kph

Will the Mad Dog be available for C-Bills later on or is it just exclusive?

Yes obviously the Mad Dog requires a significant investment and I would have given that away for free as well if I could but there are financial limitations. Thanks to all our supporters.

Well, after several k, whats another 120. Drop in the bucket. Keep it up pgi!!

They all will. The C-bill CN9-AH and AS7-S will be a different version, but the variant itself will still come out.

The Atlas does not go 86 kph, and it already determines whether a team will win or lose by its presence due to its ECM and firepower. The introduction of a Heavy that is as mobile as a medium mech and which also has ECM changes the battlefield by introducing a reaction unit that can provide ECM immunity bubbles while also not being vulnerable to enemy fire as a light mech is.

And that isn't even adding in the abilities of Clan technology.

Where before you either had a heavy ECM unit that was slow and ponderous, or a fast ECM unit that was light and incapable of taking damage in the front lines, now you have a fast ECM unit which can take main combat as well as deal heavy damage. In essence you are getting the strengths of both types of units and discarding their weaknesses.

That is why it is a game changer.

This is not correct.

Basically if you played 100 matches in the last year you get the active player rewards

If you bought MC ever or have a founders back since they had MC in them which qualifies you get the Centurion

If you bought any package ever, from lowest founders back to lowest clan or a la carte you get the Atlas

If you bought Legendary OR Overlord OR Masakari OR Man O War you get the King Crab

If you bought the Masakari AND Man O War you get the Mad Dog for free Sept 23rd - But it is available for MC and CBills around the turn of the year - details in post.

Does that include those of us who purchased gold mechs and were granted a Masakari pack along with it? I'm guessing so, but I just want to be sure since they weren't mentioned at all. *huggles Hellbringer and Mad Dog plushies* Can't wait to pilot my beauties.

Ah, man. Mad Dog as the reward 'mech. That was the one I was really looking forward to! Certainly can't afford to shovel out that much now, though.

But $120 I can do, on account of I haven't really spent anything on gaming for a few months. I need a clan assault and a clan light to get all four classes to use in CW anyway. Hope I can make the Gargoyle dance well enough to make all the excel warriors crumple their spreadsheets in fury- but are we staring down the barrel of the dreaded -20% quirks? It is an 80 tonner with 81Kph groundspeed, and a 400XL isn't exactly going to leave much room for lumbering.

King Crab, Cent-AH, and Altas-S coming though, so can't really complain about any of the oncoming content. That is some Craaaazy volume coming up for you guys, I bet your contractors are glad for that!

Russ: The terms for the free Mad Dog are currently "If you own the Masakari Collection when you purchase the Man-o-War Collection", but shouldn't the terms instead be "If you own both the Masakari Collection and the Man-o-War collection by X date (Which may be TBA)". That way you get rid of edge cases where people who buy Man-O-Wars first before upgrading a full Clan Collection miss out on that deal.

Either way, I'm liking where PGI is heading lately. I can only hope that the goodwill will continue in the months to come.

Haven't been this excited in a while.

Especially with this in the bucket!
Didn't like the Gargoyle back in Mech2, but I didn't like most mechs back then!

Is there going to be an Ala Carte option? I have $55 waiting for a Hellbringer right now in my pocket, but I have no interest in the Koshi or Fenris and can't see spending $90 for 1 mech so please tell me there will be an Ala Carte option.
