The awesome had a quirk lifting making him quite deadly with energy weapons.

most of complaints it's about the hit box + energy/heat issues, now that energy/heat issues are quite solved with the quirks it's quite deadly some even call it one of the best laser boats.

Provided I wasn't the only Assault on the team, my old Awesome(closed brat era) with 6 or 7 MPLs was a great brawling Atlas support mech. I'd just follow a few steps behind the Atlas, he'd draw the fire, I'd poke out and get the kill. Sadly, I frequently had to fill the lone or top Assault position in PuG matched, putting woefully outside my operational niche. Matched frequently ended poorly with the vast majority of Assaults in the queues were Atlas...it was a major motivations for selling it when I needed funds for my preferred chassises and play style.

Ahhh, the 8Q, by far my favorite varient. I like to run mine with 4 lpl. Works great at brawling and skirmishing. I have several Awesome videos on my youtube channel.

The Awesome has been my favorite mech for a long time.

I opted to go for the 9M as a my energy toting Awesome variant, only backfilled with the 8Q recently to cross off another variant on the Com Guard Tukayyid Unit Allocation Table, but thinking I made the wrong choice.

Maybe its just I'm used to the Awesome now, but even in basics the 8Q just a PPC spewing death machine that rakes in the damage and kills.

My Awesome with 5 MPL and 2 ERPPCs is absolutely brutal. But then, my ML, ERPPC, ASRM24 build and my 3 ML, LRM45, TAG build are both brutal as well.
