Seriously, that anniversary stuff is incredible. I even like the Wave 2 Clan Mechs. Seriously, incredible.

I've seen some positive steps in recent days since the separation from IGP. I wish it would have happened sooner.

Even ECM is now being looked at from a player perspective.

Other things that need to be looked at:

Pinpoint convergence
Ghost Heat Removal
PPC Charge time instead of Gauss (seriously never made much sense to have it the way it is now)
LRM's changed back to what they were before now

Likely a few other things, but these would be some good steps.

Seriously impressed with this new sudden turn in direction. Now we need CW Phase 2 like yesterday.

You do realize that most of the "good" stuff are still sale related, right? Even the freebies are sale related. Which is pretty much what PGI had been shoving down our throats before.

Unless CW part 2 and/or ECM solution wows me, I'm gonna withhold my praise.

No PPCs should not have a charge mechanic either, the only ones that do fire less often because they have a ppc capacitor that boosts their damage by 5.

They have already dsynced gauss with the slow ppc speed, they need to get rid of gauss charge and put in the min range just like standard ppcs so the gauss keeps its sniper role but ist a good brawling weapon.

We knew IGP were the devil since closed beta. I remember many a time IGP were on the firing line since back then. I remember how the entire dev>player relationship was effectively nuetered and only Thomas, Buckton and a very small handful of devs, in insolated instances actually seemed to be in touch with players and communicated in an eye to eye fashion.

Umm, selling products is what any business "crams down your throat"...I don't see why that's a problem, especially since the bulk of the release will likely go for c-bills within a few months of release. But let's be real, should the cool extras go to people who don't spend money, insult and hold a contemptuous attitude toward the devs?

You people who are now praising PGI either have very short memories, are so stupid that shiny baubles impress you or...well, I dont know what. Take your pick.

Thomas was great, like Miss and the other mod.

They are praising them for actual and factual, tangible things they are doing. I mean come on, are you denying PGI has made some positive strived recently? Or has PGI found away to deceive us with mirages and hypnosis. People are giving credit where credit is due. If you can't see that, if you can't be objective in your criticism, if you can't acknowledge the positive things PGI is doing! but instead only harp on the past, then how do you expect anyone yo take your rants and obtuse behavior seriously?

PGI has had its struggles, they have a lot of making up to do, but only dome one bent on trashing PGI could ignore the positive ground they've covered recently.

Look, you obviously have some skewed sense importance, you will undoubtly continue your rant in your response...but honestly, you aren't helping your cause by coming across as unreasonable and un-objective. Just try and dial it back a bit.

We're praising them for actual positive progress. They deserve praise when they do things right, they deserve criticism when they do things wrong.

That's how it works.

If anything, it seems you're the one who doesn't know how it works and have the "everything PGI does is evil" shaded glasses on.

Let me be clear, many of us do think PGI has a lot to make up for, but we're seeing progress.

Now, whether they stay the course and make things right is mainly up to them. But it takes two to tango. If we aren't willing to at least give them a chance now that they got rid of IGP and have clearly been changing how they run MWO? Then we are no better than the old PGI.

You don't have to open up the wallet if you think it's a trick. Nobody does. What you do with your money is your own decision.

Is there a list showing what this progress you speak of is? Feel like I'm missing something.

Way too late in the evening for me to compile a list, but off-hand :

- They're actually talking to us HERE in the forums to start with
- New maps coming soon (and I played the factory one on PTS, so I know it's real and not BS)
- Largely met deadlines this year
- Clan release was surprisingly well done
- CW under active development (and if PGI fails to deliver that, well.... shitstorm it will be)
- Addressed the "Island" comment
- Apparently willing to address bannings and let people who manifest interest in being back (extending an olive branch)
- Fixed the historical injustice of the c-bill earnings diff between hero mechs and founder mechs (it felt like a slap in the face back then)

I'm sure there's more but it's 6:30 am over here and I want to sleep. So g'night.

I see it as them being able to interact with us without having to go through someone else. And you can bet it cost them a pretty penny to break ties with IGP. Time will tell if it's really for the best and just how earnest they'll continue being.

As long as they redo the starting log on since you see a huge IGP animation unless your getting a kickback for advertisement.

Then the IGP logo on the bottom of every web page once again if your getting akickback from IGP.

Otherwise we have to wait and see.

I do wonder how much has been PGI finally able to do what IGP held them back from doing, and how much of it is Russ deciding to finally do some things that he could have done all along.

How about the increased activity from Russ? The actual feed back from the Dev team? The more optimistic outlook from them?

This is just icing on the cake.

I'm open to the possibility of improvement, but I really need more convincing at this point. Progress is nice but a lot of fixing remains.

I am new so no one made me any promises

Game seems to work pretty good for me even the discos have gone from a near 95% to only two today

As for spending money hey they have to eat so I don't have one bit of problem how they want to run their business

All the games I bought over the years that sucked (starting with Strike Eagle III $70) I am finally getting some pay back with this game---it is great by comparison

CW I am on the fence about, again no one made me any promises about CW

I like battletech but I am not married to the lore like some people are
(Some use TT lore like a Billy club and whip it out and beat up the devs with it)

We need to start promoting this game (that is if you like it) instead of crying about every little thing

"Mom I did not get CW" oh brother
