This is a rather small yet, I believe, critical additional function for the Command Console.
So, when a mech isn't actively targeted by a player you see a hollow red triangle. And when it becomes targeted the triangle becomes solid. Pretty basic. Could PGI add on to that by having the triangle become yellow, or orange, heck I'd take bright green even, when targeted by someone equipped with a command console?
The logic behind this is fairly simple. Focus fire. For example: I'm the drop commander for my 8 man group going into a drop. On TS a lot of info is being traded around. Where the enemy is, or is going, where they are open and vulnerable, and which enemies have very dangerous builds. Sometimes target designations get lost in the mix. Also, even when that info it isn't lost, critical time is lost in many cases looking for that specific target. If I call out "Focus Gamma, AC40 Jager, open RT" for example. Jager's are common, less common since clan mechs, but still common enough. So my team has to look through the targets to find the Jager I want brought down.
For me, simply targeting the mech, and calling out "Focus my target" would be the difference in loading a 3T command console, and a 1.5T BAP.
