Wasn't sure what it was while watching the videos that made me feel like the mech pilot is "gliding" along inside the mech. At first I thought it was the recticle not moving.....
But then as I watch I see the cockpit move, but the ground and the pilots viewpoint never move in relation to a mechs footsteps or weapon hit.
I'm sure part of this is due to performance issues (if the ground doesn't "bob" or the pilots viewpoint then there is less pixels to update for the GPU and thus higher FPS (esp needed for older video cards)). But the current ground/viewpoint is currently unsatisfying....Yoiu just don't feel like you are in a Mech.
I'd much rather the Devs add the ground moving with each step and add a pilots headbob to simulate the jarring movements of a moving Mech and play at a lower resolution. The current Cockpit overlay moving in relation to the mechs footsteps/weapon hits just doesn't convey that sense of movement (and the SIZE and lumbering momentum of a multi-ton Mech)
On watching the videos, can't wait, but would like to see more of thses "sim" elements make it into game.

Ground and Head bob vs Cockpit overlay "movement"

While I agree with you, I seem to remember reading that part of the issue with ground bob was to offset the people who get motion sickness from watching camera bob and bob and bob and bob and bob and bob etc. etc. I know a surprisingly large number of people who can't play games that do that for very long.
