Founders don't even get in until July 17th, so open would have to be later than that.

Ya, I'm still not really understanding why they would have the open beta after founders, if they've truly committed to not doing a wipe after the founders date.

Seems like they're gonna start seeing some new issues once they open up the game and get actual organized teams playing, and you'd want to identify those issues prior to going live.

I will admit to not understanding the function of an open beta in a game that is both free to play, and will not be wiping stats after the founder's gain entry on July 17th. I understand it for games that you must purchase, but in the free to play model I just don't see the difference between the "gone gold" opening and open beta.

I suppose it's like an open statement;
"sure, you can play, but there might be the odd bug, balance might not be completely tweaked, and the metagame might not be fully in-place yet. But here's a badass mech with guns anyway"


Ps: Is it not August the 7th? Where has this July 17th come from?

Jim, this thread is from before the date was delayed from july 17th to august 7th..

I'm pretty sure the devs already said Aug 7th. July 17th went out the window already as they're running a little late beefing up their servers and getting everything prepped. July 17th was the old date, Aug 7 is the new date.
