I feel compelled to make a post because there are some people out there that aren't really happy about the rewards. It's direct, so you have been warned.

The crux of the matter is- PGI finally created rewards based on what the community wanted, and now some poeple are angry since they don't meet up with the requirements and want their shinies noaw.

So, they decided to bring in the King Crab and Vulture, two highly desired 'Mechs that obviously mean a lot. Obviously they wanted to provide a meaningful gift to those that have supported them with large purchases, and of course founders. What better way to create a gift than giving highly desired 'mechs out?

Now in the case of the King Crab, it's my understanding that those that get the reward get the 'Mech at the same time in goes for MC. I don't get people's complaints there. If you didn't buy any top packs, that's your problem. You don't qualify.

The Vulture is coming out earlier, so I understand why people don't want to buy the two highest packs. But again, it's a reward- as soon as you give it out in other methods, then the meaning of the reward is lost somewhat.

The Atlas and Centurion are pretty much going to everyone, but people seem to forget this.

The point of a reward is that it's a reward, not just a new 'mech to give out to everyone. Not just yet, anyway. PGI had previously ignored the founders and high pack purchasers a lot, and now they're finally noticing them. Fact is, they spent the high amounts of money, they're the ones getting rewarded at the moment.

I barely resisted the temptation to troll this thread.

The fact of the matter is that 98% of everyone playing MWO* are really happy about the recent changes. Haters gonna hate. Threads like this one just add to the illusion that there's a lot of people complaining. There's not.

You missed the point.
Nobody wanted anything for free.

Now keep on patting each other´s back.

  • Player A paid $120 for a pack and gets a King Crab
  • Player B paid $120 for a pack and gets a King Crab
  • Player C paid $120 for a pack and doesn't get a King Crab
I'll reserve my right to lodge a complaint.

I dont have a huge issue with it myself but he does have a point I mean wasn't the top pheonix pack like 80 bucks. So they get a Kingcrab but someone that got half the first mechs in the wave 1 clan pack for 120 doesn't it is a bit odd.

Erm... I overestimated what was going on. I modified the tone of the post a bit. :\

The point is that when presented with the opportunity to throw money at the game those who paid the most PGI asked for at the time are being rewarded.
It doesn't matter how much you paid
It matters how much you supported the game at a certain point

That's fair enough, I understand that when you look at it like that it seems unfair. But nothing's ever fair, and nothing's ever perfect, and PGI have decided to go with this.

Either way, pretty much everyone's getting something, so I'm going to be quite content with my Centurion and Atlas until I can grab the Vulture and KC for cibills.

The basic self entitled nature of the internet. They can demand loudly without any negative repercussions. And if they get something. They inevitably want more. But then again the internet can be a faceless legion of desires. So it's hunger never be truly sated.

This is exactly the point. The King Crab is a reward to players that at one point or another took the plunge and bought the most expensive item PGI had available at the time. The other mechs reward you for other levels of participation simple as that.

Also people are forgetting one thing. PGI didn't have to give anyone rewards. This is Freebie stuff for just playing and/or investing in the game at various points. Basically you should be happy your getting anything for free period.

I frankly don't care about the KC, cause Direwhale is coming out in C-Bills soon. PGI still have not earned enough of my trust to drop money just yet...

Youre right. I think Player C should get a unique crying baby warhorn.
