So after a long Hiatus, I decided to come back to MWO and see what was going on. When I logged into the game, I had to download 81 patches. :o

After waiting about 3 hours, I said the heck with it and uninstalled MWO and then went to the website to download a newer copy, hoping that this would speed things up. when I went to install it failed out and said I still had a copy installed. I searched my hard drive and insured that all files were indeed deleted, restarted and tried again with the same result.

So I filed a support ticket, about 5 days later (I see support response times have not improved) I received a response directing me to use Microsoft's uninstall fixit tool. Which I did to no avail. I have reopened the support ticket and thought that while I as waiting another 5 or so days for a response I would see if the current player base had any suggestions.

only time I had a problem like that, is when the old file directory might be write protected or corrupted for some odd reason. if the old file is still there you should probably dlete it. and have the installer create the new directory, hope this helps...

start run regedit -enter-

search for anything with

"MechWarrior" or "piranha" and delete it.

Have you physically searched your C drive for anything left over?

Have you tried the repair tool?
