I'm thinking the whole story is not here.
2 CERLL deal 22 damage - which isn't enough to clear out the 27 HP the OP claims to have had. There had to have been some other weapon strike on the head.

If you notice you're getting smacked in the noggin why not torso twist, I mean you have 1.6 seconds to turn. If I'm in an arrow if I'm popping and I get shot that's the first thing I'm doing

I would assume that because of lag, he had already fired his beams for half a second before they even showed up on your screen and by the time you moved/twisted he had done enough damage to crit your ammo and blown your head up.
Have happened to me a few times that by the time I see the lasers and twist away I'm already dead.

See previous post. It's very likely a Nova packing 2xERLL on each arm- that is, 44 damage. More than enough even with a bit of grazing to melt someone's face off. Same energy tonnage as the Prime, but it spreads the heat across a longer stretch which makes it a tolerable long-range poker.

as i said. i was in my arrow. that one enemy facing me was a nova.
nobody of my team were behind me, they were fighting the whole other team, thats why everybody of the enemy team were facing them instead of me and i haven't stored ammo in my head nor was it due to lag/freeze. everything worked fine except that one headshot.
Did the nick of dat guy was - EboneezeeR and that was Nova-Prime? Just to confirm...

You MAY NOT see all the laser fire coming from a NOVA at you. You May have missed the PPC fire as well coming from the nova since your visuals would have been interrupted by the laser fire in your face.

respectfully....
1) really? You have a stop watch, or playback using FRAPS? I find it hard to accept (I am sure you believe it) but the reality its a game, half a second when you're focused on so many things......
2) its a game....terrain hitboxes, LRM's chasing the contour of the terrain, alpha strikes of ballistics not killing a spider...its a game...lasers that wont cut a car in half, curbs in a city that stop the progress of a 95 ton mechanized tank...dead mechs you can walk THRU...its a game...plagued with evidence of non reality.
3) dont think, accept, ITS. A. GAME. its as close to reality is what? NOTHING, giant stompy robots that have been plagued by problems for more than a year...... take a breath, accept move on.
Before this last patch, I stuck the head of my cicada up (walking up the ramp on river city) I had the cataphract already locked, one gauss, three mediums.....boom headshot.....pissed, yes, poasting in the forum....no...see #2
yeah it's a game. i don't care about getting killed, i jsut wondered how fast it was. i had no reaction time, i saw him firing and thats it, i was just dead.
i've see in his mech model that he had only two cerll..
anyway, its over i must accept it. until now it didnt happened again.

What about simply a crit hitting the cockpit? Game over if that happens regardless of how much actual damage is done to the internals.

It doesn't work like that, the only critical hits that can actually kill you instantly are those on ammo stores or Gauss rifles.
There is however a bit of damage transfer to internals whenever you score a critical hit, even if there is nothing to crit. This means weapons with high critical rates deal significantly more damage against internals, and clan targeting computers do increase the critical rate of your lasers, so that might have caused it.

Gauss and AC rounds are notoriously hard to see, especially if your cockpit is getting splashed with a laser or taking LRM fire. Often the reality of these sorts of situations is that your actually taking more fire than you realize, many times from multiple sources but in the confusion of the moment it only appears as if your taking fire from just one mech.
