So my first Mech Warrior game was MW3, I was to young to play the Table top in it's hay day (by about a decade I think and my town never even had a gaming store anyway) So what is so wonderful about King Crab? Tell me so I can be as excited as you all are. :)

Assault mech that can boat dual large ballistics, and probably multiple smaller ballistics depending on hardpoints (i.e. 4 AC/5 possible if 2 ballistic hardpoints per arm?). High alpha cheesiness.

100 ton assault mech with twin AC20's in the arms

Large laser and a *BAKA, BAKA* - corrected - LRM15

In Btech terms it was the most devastating close range mech in existence in the 3025 era

Yeah. the stock design will definitely need work to upgrade the ammunition supply.

Well, that would be a mighty fine five shots. Besides, here it would be 7.

And since IS Ballistics > Clan Ballistics its why I keep hearing it referred to as a "clan buster?"
Man I hated AC40 jeagers, now I'll have to see how much I hate AC40 assault mechs. Or just pilot one myself..

dammit i knew that, distracted.

But still you could freak'n hold a city map alone by being in the middle of it until those 5 shots ran out. Some say Paper tiger but it was more like a Paper Godzilla.

It is a mech, that with MWO capable modifications, would make it the Dire Wolf's prime target on the battlefield.

It is the first IS mech that will have the potential to actually go head-to-head with a Dire Wolf and actually win.

"Clanbuster" refers to several mechs that were upgraded in order to counter impending Clan attempts on Tukayyid.

Per Sarna, some of these are listed as: It's very worth noting that these mechs listed exactly mirror the "Clan Wave 2" releases - 1x Light, 1x Medium, 2x Heavy, and 1x Assault.

It's also worth noting that these particular variants have some technology not currently available in MWO. The Black Knight BL9-KNT, for example, carries a giant hatchet in its left hand.

It's perfectly reasonable to expect that this "Clanbuster Pack" will be released in December. It's slightly less reasonable that they'll put melee attacks in by then - but we can hope.

As long as the rest of the IS AC's get the same treatment, it wouldn't bother me in the least.

Fit Endo (assuming it doesn't already have it), win. You get to keep the stock weapons. I wish clan mechs had that option :(

Want....

Also i really want to see what the art department has done with the King Crab, cause it looks downright goofy in most of the art i've seen of it.

I am guessing 3 ballistic hard points in each arm?

Definite IS answer to the Daishi/Dire Wolf

FD already cooked up a Crab and King Crab (and a Spy) back before he started working for Catalyst. Or maybe this was right around the start.
