Either a joke or an idiot...
Given the smiley face, I think it's a joke, so let's not all go bananas on this one eh?!

Only maybe in the realm of people who put LRMs on things like Timbers, and run XL Stalker/Atlas builds with LRMs.

I don't know who can argue that 5 damage 2 heat 200 range ERSL on a $$$ only mech that can mount 12 of them was not P2W. People that bought the Nova got their share of easymode matches. And people who saved their C-Bills got 5 damage 4 heat 150 range ERSL.
Timberwolf and Stormcrow already got their weapon nerf, next they will undergo a "side torso XL-bugfix", maybe even a Victor-like quirk treatment. When they are finally released for C-Bills, they will be no more attractive than a typical IS mech.
How about a Heavy mech with ECM? Pay now to get your easy mode on, while we contemplate on"fixing" the ECM.
Paying for advantage, "but only for a few short months" is still P2W.

Have you ever seen a Mad Dog? It's almost impossible not to screw up the hitboxes on that one, it's got clearly defined and rather large torso sections and a huge cockpit. They'll probably give it a small head hitbox but the torso is beyond saving. It's still gonna be a good mech with it's large amount of pod space but it won't be more powerful than a Timberwolf and it will be much more fragile.

Not in faction warfare. The TimberWolf should be predominantly a Clan Wolf mech, with the Mad Dog was much more widely spread, I think it was produced by Smoke Jaguar and used a lot by Ghost Bear. So in faction play, TW's will (hopefully) be fairly restricted, while the Mad Dog fairly widespread.

I mean hell, the stormcrow can do 4 ASRM6, which is much more efficient, and move faster too:
SCR-PRIME
Moving faster = more back shots = faster kills.
Heh, remember when SRMs had splash damage and Splatcats killed anything in three shots or less.

The only thing restricted in that mode is the tech base. Only Clans can use Clan mechs, only IS factions can use IS mechs. There are no sub-faction restrictions.
