The Gargoyle, an 80 tonne assault battlemech that does over 80 kph ..?
The same as an IS medium battlemech ... ?

So it has longer range, lots of hard points ... and it can now keep up with a medium ...

What are the IS going to get to be able to stand against this ?

It also has less firepower than a Hunchback. But yes, you are indeed reading it right...its pretty much a medium mech that has a bit more armor and takes up an assault slot in the team.

I bet it will still have less surface area than the Catapult. :(

The Gargoyle shouldn't be too bad. It is fast but it is also under gunned. It will be like facing a less heavily armed Timber Wolf in a lot of ways.

I dunno.... think I'd rather have an Awesome on my team.

Although the Clan-XL survivability could make it fairly good at brawling maybe. Still, that's only roughly 25 tons of equipment available.

of Course not Its a Gargoyle. Proof even Clan Wolf can make a bad Mech.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Less firepower than a hunchback?
Now, i just look at the Prime. In which world a Hunchback can fight two uac/5s AND two SRM6 AND a small laser? unless you use an XL engine (which means suicide in a Hunchie) ..

I like the Gargoyle. It looks cool, and an Assault going 86 kph is great! :D

In short, it will be a big target, that is true, but how many times have you seen Dire Wolves or even Warhawks being left behind? Now this Assault can keep the pace of Clan mediumds and heavies (except the Stormcrow and the Ice Ferret), meaning that it will not be left behind. Sure the podspace is little but you can still mount a few good weapons there. 2 UAC/5s sounds fun, plus some SRM6s. The biggest drawkback of the 'Mech is that almost all its weapons are arm mounted.

You read it right. the clan Gargoyle can move just as fast as an IS 80 ton Assault mech, like the Victor (and some Awesomes). But what it can't do is move slower in order to load up more of that sweet, sweet Clan weaponry, nor can any of its configs jump, so that speed will be necessary when running the Canyon Maze.
