The rule has more to do with CGauss in the side torso than the CERPPC. 6 crits is the least hard to get at with Clan Tech in terms of large ballistics.

CGauss in the ST is one of the few, true precious benefits the Summoner has letting it snipe well with it.

I thought about that, and it would transfer it to the LA, nerfing it further than it would ever need/want to.

Noone said tradeoffs would be fair... unless you want more convos about Clans being more superior because of their builds (there is already some truth to it as it is).

Trade offs make sense when you are adding improvements to things that don't need improvements.

Some of these mechs clearly have some issues already, I'm not convinced giving them new options that are at best lateral changes as opposed to actual upgrades actually helps - and honestly after scanning PUG queue team mates in spectator mode I'm not sure we actually want to give people new ways to goof up their under-performers even more.

What about no? Man, people with these silly demands these last couple of weeks.

You're reading it as a "demand" but it's just an idea.

There are other Clan mechs down the line that will inevitably abuse this system more. The Summoner is a sub-optimal platform as it is.

For the record, I think the Summoner simply needs hardpoint inflation (the ballistics and energy hardpoints) to give it more options, but of course the corresponding quirks should help to negate the benefits of the inflation.

I've treated the Summoner as a Thunderbolt in overall operation... which is more or less "balanced" for the most part. We keep referencing the Timberwolf-S as the primarily problem/reasoning for the current series of issues... and that needs to be resolved in some form of a nerf at some point soon before we attempt to "improve" the Summoner w/o breaking everything else in the process.
