Right. So.

Every, single, time I try to enter a match, I get the following:

*** Memory allocation for 5592404 bytes failed***

Every time.

I just want to emphasize: This now happens EVERY TIME.

I don't know what it is, and I don't care. I've never posted a complaint about bugs in a game on a forum before, and I know it's tricky, but this is getting ridiculous. How about before another round of tweaking heat or range or whatever, you try making the game playable. This has been a steadily increasing occurence for months, and now I can't play at all.

Probably a (possibly minor) problem with your pc that MWO stumbles over.

Windows and drivers updated ?

If you contact support they'll ask for a couple of log files, maybe they can figure out where the problem lies.

i used to have the same problem but cant narrow down how i fixed it because i went from win7 32 to win7 64, replaced my mb added memory and upgraded my cpu.

you guys need to post system info cpu, os,#ram , vid card

i used to fix the problem (mostly) by running older AMD drivers

windows 7? 64bit?

I, finally, installed windows 7 about 2 weeks ago on my gaming machine after running the same install of Vista 64 for over 5 years.....and I have lots of game issues now. In Vista, game was rock solid and never crashed. I'm still trying to figure out what else changed because I was running the same video driver on both OSes and the same hardware drivers for everything.

we need more info, desktop?laptop?system specs?

you should post the type of crashes you are seeing, memory allocation? or display driver stopped working and has recovered?(these i see on amd)

if its a laptop and you went to win7 they added a power feature that turns off your ethernet connection to conserve power (not sure if this applies to you) in device manager right click your network adapter go to properties>power management disallow windows can turn off the device to conserve power.

good luck

I still have the problem.

It is related to 32 bits systems regardless if XP or Win7. It is going to get worse when the UI will receive more features.

Supposedly the .322 patch fixed it but more likely it just fixed an instance of a more widespread problem.

It is getting really annoying even because each time you are kicked out of the group, have to rejoin and generally you are an annoyance for your team.

Please look into this issue more deeply, it is alive and well.

The problem lies with CryEngine and its memory leak problems on 32-bit Windows system...

The solution: Installing 64-bit system, and yeah like i'll do that...not

All other CryEngine games worked on my system but this, and this was addressed to PGI 3 years ago when they started CB, and they said that they will fix it...right

(they have all the logs from me and others long time ago, but that's what you get from second hand programmers)

Win7 32bit here. The problem vanished for a long time by reducing the Textures in the game options, but since UI2.0 it's back, even with all options on low. I get it about every other game but it can be seemingly random and i can occasionally get a dozen or so matches before i get the error again.

Just some reason that may or may not apply to people having the problem:

1) Incompatible legacy applications.
2) Unwillingness to change something that works perfectly for everything else.
3) Because the game requirements say that it is sufficient.
4) Time is not free and reinstalling a system can take days.

I am sure there can be others.

EvilCow explained...I really don't have time right now to install a 64-bit system and to find 64-bit versions of 32-bit apps just because one game doesn't work as it should...also FarCry, Crysis, they all work fine on my system...

And the game says in the minimum requirements that 32-bit is enough...:)

have the same sh** every 3rd or 4th match, sinceabout 3 or 4 patches ago
but as "feedback" is wasted time in this game,
all the devs care for is $$ SALES: SALES; SALES.
..save ur time mate, play a game that works, come back in 6 month and check if MWO works by then,
if not.. i hear there is this "island" .-)

cheerz

I think it is.."assumed" that all who play this game is very computer literate, and have money flowing out their butt, and have hours and hours a day to upgrade their systems, and to decode the computer language, and rewrite stuff, and is way into the Lore..... well, hate to say....not all is like you Devs. Some of us just love mounting up and shooting other mechwarriors in game, and can just afford throwing money at this game but not at a new computer, and we take our computer to someone that does now all that stuff to fix it..when we can afford that. So, yes... Devs... you are in your own world with many others with you.... and us....."stupid" folk.... just hoping that the next patch won't shut us out of playing the game all together. So, you Devs just keep throwing a temp change to a weapon.. or coming with new mechs, and upgrading YOUR sysystems to handle it all... soon it will be just you and your close friends that will be able to play MWO..... and the rest of us will just sit back and go.."gee...I miss playing that game.... "...... don't know about the rest of you...but the feeling of getting weeded out of playing this game gets stronger with every patch.... wondering how they can make money... alienating their customers?.... shrugs... oh well, I will play till the patch comes where I can't at all anymore.... and think to myself.."it was a fun game, I miss it....."

But 32 bit system use only 3GB of memory. If you have more then that, you want your system upgraded to 64 bit anyway...

Oh yeah... and minimal requirements state minimum Memory 4GB. Which your 32 bit system can't support...

32 bit binaries are provided, XP and Win7 32 bits are on the supported list.

If you don't have anything constructive to say better go play some games or go out to get some fresh air.

I will just add I had a 32 bit system and 3 gig ram got this error frequently. then went to a 64 bit system with 4 gig ram and have not had this again. both systems are almost identical hardware wise. got windows 7 on the 32 bit and windows 8 on the 64 bit

I can say I had this frequently occur as well when I had Win8 32 Bit installed. I went to Win8 64 Bit and haven't had memory allocation error once to the best of my recollection.

Now when I did have Win8 32 Bit installed I recall reading somewhere on the internet... a suggestion to lower settings/textures. I do remember for MWO setting the textures detail to low would seem to definitely reduce the frequency of the memory allocation error. I could run at medium textures and would try turning some other stuff lower and the memory error would intermittently come and go, sometimes alot, sometimes it would not happen for a few days. I was playing with stuff in user.cfg as well. My suggestion would be to try running the Repair Tool and clean the shaders cache or something, back up any user.cfg and Systemoverride.cfg (? I think it's called) and then setting the Texture detail to low.

See what happens...
