To People Complaining About Bringing Back Phoenix/founder

All the packs have been limited, we even have a limited edition hero (granted not many are fans of grid iron but it was limited)
To re-release said items over the King Crab would be a sham to those that purchased.
Either buy the KC for c-bills or maybe PGI will just let you buy the freebie KC for a month or so.

Since anyone can get those mechs anyway, it's really just a bundle MC sale. Your status as a founder or a phoenix-who-paid would remain unique to people who bought those packs at that time.
Really people, is it that complicated?

And PGI is very aware of that: http://mwomercs.com/...ix-or-founders/
At the same time I can understand that some people really don't want to buy Clan Mechs, but would love to get the King Crab.
Guess you best hope guys is if PGI manages to organise a new pack in time (probably something down the line of (buy before 16th December to receive the King Crab and get the Mechs from the pack in 2015).

Every single one started off as a pre-order. The content did not exist when any of the packs were first offered. Folks who bought in took it on faith that PGI would sometime deliver that content (look at IGP and MWTactics for a situation where the content has not been and will likely never be delivered).
Having a limited edition, providing mechs with cbill bonuses (which do not affect gameplay and can not be considered pay to win) is an enticement to purchase the pack before the content is delivered.
How many folks will pay upfront if they know the pack can be available later? Why spend money now when they can wait until the content is delivered and not speculate with their money? The bonuses supplied with the packs are incentives to get people to spend their money NOW ... so that PGI can pay its bills now.
By re-releasing previous limited edition packs ... PGI is implying that there is no need to pre-order packages ... that they will be available in the future at some point if you want to wait for it. Whether you put the Phoenix or Founders packs back on sale is a matter of what message you want to send (I will also say that PGI strongly stated that the Founders packs would never go on sale again ... this was an assurance some folks wanted before buying in ... so it would be up to PGI to decide whether to go back on that or not).
However, with so many hero mechs available ... there are endless combinations of packages that could be offered right now ... at the same price points as existing packages without impacting the incentives associated with a limited edition pack.

I mean, do people seriously want to plunk down US$80+ for a pack just to get a "free" King Crab with bonus c-bill earnings?
Look, if you want a loyalty reward maybe you should have been, I dunno... Loyal? If the problem was you were broke, hey, I understand, we all go through times when money is tight. But those of us that scraped up the cash did it because we wanted those packages enough to do it.
I'm getting ALL of the loyalty rewards. I feel bad for the guys that don't qualify for the KGC give away because they couldn't afford it. But the ones that were busy throwing hissy-fits and such? No sympathy at all. And regardless of my sympathy (or lack thereof), (TL; DR right here) why should the loyalty rewards of those of us that have played and payed be devalued by a bunch of fair weather friends that just want a KGC with fancy camo and a c-bill bonus?

I agree about the hissy fit part, some people will complain regardless.
I do feel bad for the people that couldn't afford it at the time though. I hate to see anyone left out because of financial reasons.

Personally, I would trade every mech on multiple accounts for a single CPLT-C1(F). It wouldn't even need a special C-bill bonus or a camo pattern. Make it stock green, I don't care. That nose looks awesome, and I would have bought it if I knew MWO existed a few months earlier.
The only reason I didn't buy Legendary Founder package was because I didn't accidentally stumble upon the link to the MWO website earlier.
I don't care if other people have my "limited edition" mechs. I don't need to feel like a special snowflake. I just want to share the fun of MWO, and I'm happy to let other people have anything I have, if they support the game.sa

I do feel you on that my friend. When the founders pack came out originally I was completely broke and a month away from starting my new job. I just graduated and what are you going to do.
Honestly I don't mind missing out on that incentive as you do miss things in life but it just was a bit annoying that I would have put money into the game if I was able. When I did get my first paycheck I bought and atlas with some MC for a reward as well as to support the game.

I didn't have money for founders at the time (true story). Should I be given a second chance on the once-in-this-game's-lifetime chance at getting founder packs?
No.

I understand you want your purchase to be special and all but do try to keep things in context.
A lot of people may honestly not have had the money at the time to make the purchase.
I bought the phoenix pack but I wouldn't mind if they made it available again if someone really wants the King Crab.
It just seems like a shame that someone wouldn't be able to get it just because they maybe didn't have the funds available at the time it was offered originally.
I will say right now that it isn't the best to bring back the Phoenix Package. Why?
Because a good number of people that didn't purchase the package have bought mechs within that package for MC/C-Bills. In the rush of "Special King Crab" it can lead to buyer's regret as people pay real money for digital content they already have.
I will support a new mech pack for IS over bringing back the Phoenix Package, even if it is something that doesn't hold my interest. From a developmental resource sense a new package is more expensive but from a business standpoint a new pack won't be cannibalizing it's own sales.
For the reasons mentioned before it is also better for the playerbase to get a new pack and not a rereleased phoenix package. In addition, if the Phoenix Package was opened for sale once more then the Loyalty Point boosts would be sold again, which is a mechanic that isn't in the game and some players are upset over.
