Heh speaking of try before you buy

anyone interested in being able to pay cbills to rent a mech for say 5 matches at some fraction of the cost ?

or can we simply sell a mech back and get some % cbills back to effectively do the same thing ?

EDIT: because I suck at spelling even with spellcheck

Rent

I would rather have the game finished then worry about rentals
But I think the cost should be high enough to keep you from wanting to do it often
You clan mates should have those that wil have most the stuff to give you hints

Selling

I would guess if you sell it you get half c-bills back
Seems standard for most games
But try to put the smallest (cheapest) stuff back on it in case the program just gives you base cost and you'll have upgrades for next mech

no way there will be rentals and the selling of mechs will give you a maximum of 50% back I would say.

The company makes money by your mistakes, so if you don't like what you've bought, sell it for half price and buy more premium time to grind more c-bills for your nextx choice

before i put all my hard earned into a new shiny i would like to try it for sure

maybe sold by some shady dealer who scrapped old damaged mechs together to make it just working
that will only last for 3/5 games and after that till it gets destroyed.
during those 3/5 games you get free repairs from the dealer to try out different things
ofcourse the price should match this that you wouldnt just buy rentals

My take on Rent vs Buy (the GF will kill me...)...

The math on the Paul McCartney-Heather Mills divorce is as follows:
After 5 years of marriage, he paid her $49 million. Assuming he got "quality time" every night during
their 5 year relationship (which would NOT have happened!) it ended up costing him $26,849 per time.

This is Heather.

Posted Image
On the other hand, Elliot Spitzer's call girl, Kristen, an absolute stunner with
a body like no other, charges $4,000 an hour.

This is Kristen.

Had Paul McCartney 'employed' Kristen for 5 years, he would've paid
$7.3 million for an hour of "quality time" every night for 5 years (a saving of $41.7 million).

Value-added benefits are: a 22 year old hot babe, no begging, no coaxing,
never a headache, plays all requests (!!!),
no ******** and complaining or 'to do' lists. Best of all, she leaves when you're want her to,
and comes back when you ask her. All at 1/7th the cost, with no legal fees.

Sometimes renting makes far more sense.

Loki your post rocked made my day LoL

that being said renting a mech bah most of us here played the other mech games. Most of us know what they can and can not do....the rest of the people well they can ask before they buy.Besides as Baccus said the insurance premiums would be off the chart seeing how your taking a rented mech into battle lol How els would you try it out other than mixing it up a bit HAHA
