From what I have seen from the Vlog and pictures its safe to say that the king crab is the first mech with doors for Auto Cannons?

I can't wait until I start seeing threads here on the forums from people wondering why their ACs have a firing delay on the King Crab. That might be worth a chuckle or two.

Maybe they will only be an aesthetic choice - Like the claws open/close, but have holes for the barrels to shoot through.

Although delayed fire ACs would be hilarious and should not be passed up.

I like the Claw Idea.

If it would work like the Missile doors, that also gives a 10% damage reduction, which would be neat.

Yeah I thought the same too. Will be interesting to see if the modelers keep that property.

If the "Missile Bay Doors" quirk got put on the King Crab it would raise the skill ceiling on it and could have it dethrone the Stalker as the Tankiest One Of All. Close the doors when you Torso Twist, open the doors when you turn to fire.

I assume we'd have the option to toggle open and close the doors to avoid the delay? Though it would seem the only time it would be worthwhile to toggle them closed is when their is a threat of artillery. It would seem once in a brawl, the doors need to stay open if you desire max fire rate.

Too bad that meelee is not incorporated yet or else everyone would clamp on the Direwolf cockpit and type, "Adios!"

I guess it's too much to hope for them to add a 'clack' sound to the claws.... :D

actually lore wise the doors were only there for aesthetic purposes to cut back on the intimidation factor for civilians, later they were reinforced due to pilots tendency to use the arms for punching in action though the claws were always open

So guess there won't be moveable claws then.

Seems like everyone is speculating on the claws being moveable like missile bay doors...when we have no such confirmation.

I can imagine the crying and outrage when the finalised design has no moveable claws...

Where was that from? I'd have to look around to see if there is anything to support that idea.

Also, Sarna has a different explanation. The Claws are basically the Hand Actuators intended to protect the cannons.

I wonder how a firing delay would work with the gauss charge. Open while it's charging? Once you fire, it opens and then the round flies? Opens, and then the charge cycle begins?

I understand from Russ's tweets that the King Crab will have "missile doors" and instead they are for the claw hands/AC-20s.

I guess you'll have plenty of time to do that, as it might take centuries for KGC to Torso Twist. Assaults are soo slow...

I hope we have armor quirks when that thing is closed
