Run Hot or Die Season 5 NA and EU Sign-Ups are both currently open. However, they will end on the 13th. This is a short window for the NA teams, so if you are interested, sign up as soon as possible. But, we want to get the next season started. The league will start on the 14th with round 1. There will not be a free extra week, so teams will have till the 23rd @ 11:59pm est to finish their round 1 matches.
We will be using the swiss pairing system again, as it worked very well for the EU league last season, and there will be 8 rounds (each round lasts 10 days). It is possible that we'll have 2 divisions if we get a large number of teams. As for the league format, we will stay 8v8, and we will still be likely using Skirmish mode (see below) next season. Teams will still be able to agree to no-strikes, and the c-bill based rule for including mechs will still be in place. However, unlike the previous season, this season you cannot agree to use all the other available mechs. Only the eligible mechs will be allowed to be used. The tonnage/class restrictions will be used again, though randomized for each week. The new map will be included. Currently considering removing Alpine Peaks and Terra Therma.
If you are interested, please email me - themagician93@gmail.com and indicate your team name, and who will be the leader.
If you are a new team, please go to the RHoD site - http://www.runhotord...ttles/clans.php - and click on 'create a new team'. Also, add the proper division for your team (e.g. NA 8v8 or EU 8v8).

NA: Steel Jaguar Gaming, House of Lords
Notice: I am considering using conquest mode for the 8v8s. While this restricts some map usage, it does force encounters to happen. Draws were not much of an issue for EU, nor NA open, but this is partly because of the styles of play that we saw there. We saw for more brawling or mixed-drop decs. However, in NA premier, we saw more draws due to more teams using a predominately range strategy on most maps. Conquest mode has problems with 8s, and I would be removing Terra Therma if we go conquest. The main problem is cap time is not adjusted. Another problem is that it restricts using a bit of the maps, as teams will tend to have to be around the cap points. This increases fights, but reduces some of the creativity of how teams want to play certain maps.
