We are only a few days away from the release of the direwolf. Think it will be nerfed to oblivion, and how? I've seen it being used and it seems like a replacement for the atlas, lots of armor, lots of guns, and slow as a snail.

According to Paul and Russ, they aren't currently planning on further nerfs to Clan guns (just XL penalties and Inner Sphere mech quirks)...that's the claim at least.

I think the only nerf that might happen is what ever they decide to do with the side torsos for all the clan mechs. I don't really see them nerfing specifically the direwolf anytime soon.

They will be thoroughly Wubbed.

They can't escape the Wub at that blistering 53 Kph.

In other words it will be a Daishi. They were always lots of guns, hot as hell, and couldn't maneuver for crap, primarily useful in a real assault (city maps with long streets and a way to protect your sides and rear).

Those UAC/5s are a concern for those who don't know how to torso twist.

MW4 didn't have Heavy lasers is that a hacked version?

When something throws 60 damage in your direction every ~2s, you can torso twist only so much

I assumed it was something in MekTek's mods, along with all the HUD stuff, etc. I didn't follow the game much once it became centered around their efforts. Not that I didn't like them, just burned out by then.

The only nerf the Dire Wolf needs is a ballistic cooldown nerf on the B-side torsos. It's way too good at boating ballistics.

The Dire Wolf could also use a 5%-10% max speed buff on the B-side torso that only has 1 missile hardpoint. Again this would help discourage ballistic builds. And also give a reason to actually use that side torso.

Plus I was a little more purist at the time and didn't like all the additions mucking things up.

I like how in the video the crosshair makes it very obvious that a friendly mech is being targeted yet over a decade later MWO can't get that right.

Correct, that is Mektek.

Protip: do not stand in front of one unless you are confident in your ability to kill it before it deals significant damage. Also, 6 UAC/5's will spray that damage as long as you roll the damage.

I think thats legit, its the re-release that is free, it came with both mech packs and added weapons.

Eh, I don't feel it's a replacement for the Atlas. I personally still love my DDC. For starters, I feel like my DDC is harder to kill and easier to maneuver. Sure, you can just sit back and unload with some Direwolf builds but in my experience, I can move in closer (Face tank) to the enemy in my Atlas and just Alpha strike them, killing some and blowing most torsos/arms off others. I think you have to be more cautious in your Direwolf.

Also, don't you have to buy all 3 variants for the omnipods? Eh, I feel like you need the omnipods to make the really high damage builds... BUT that's just me... I'm not pro or anything.

I'm looking forward to seeing King Crabs and un-nerf'd Dire Wolf's slugging it out in Dec.

Lol, I look forward to the amount of tears people will spill when they buy a Dire Whale and learn that it actually is, indeed, a Whale, and that they will not suddenly become gods of war with them.

I look forward to the free kills, personally. My Stormcrow is hungry for PUGWhales.

Sure, that's what they all say, until:

No amount of torso twisting saved him either.

I never heard of that. I have hard copies of MW4: Vengeance, MW4: Black Prince, MW4: Mercenaries and both Mech Packs but was unaware of any weapon packs or rereleases.
