So I looked at the Maddog's potential as a SRM mech. Its a wee bit over the top. The only limitation on the mech is that is doesn't have JJ's. At least this mech will now become the new whipping boy for Clan mechs.

As long as you can stay alive, you will need those rounds. I run 600 missiles for a 4XSRM6 and 20% of the matches I'm out of ammo at the end.
Artemis for SRM's for me has proven fairly useless, it eats up too much tonnage for the slight grouping benefit it gives. I am better off having the extra ammo and extra launchers than running a SRM4 configuration.

Compared to the TBR that is a tad faster, have more armor and can run a similar build, i think its a good compromise.

As someone who runs SRM boats, its over the top. You basically set up two firing banks that fire your right sides cerml and csrm6 and then follow it up with your left side bank. Looking at the bulk of ammo it can carry, its nasty as a dedicated brawler. I still prefer my Madcat version with 4 crsm6 and 2 clpl.

A LRM 40 running around at 81 kp/h will be a pain to catch, this thing just turned into a very nasty mobile missile platform that will be able to reposition itself with ease. Well from there cant predict the judgement of the pilots tho...

It's the same speed as the TBR.

A more likely LRM monstrosity would be this:

My own take (as previewed here) manages 19 total DHS, with six tons of rocket ammo as well as the default 4x C-ERML backup. Still runs hot as all get-out, but you've got more room under the cap to pursue a kill, and some extra flex for putting laser fire into a damaged component in a close fight rather than waste more missiles on it. I am very much looking forward to giving it a go when I get back home from work today.
