Played 2 games in my new maddog then while in mechlab the game crashed out.
Tried to restart it and got an error message about missing PAK files.

Ran the repair tool as the program recommended and after an age it found lots of issues with the Mining colony files.

Green bar lit up to fix errors, clicked and then windows reported MWOrepairtool had stopped working. This has now been happening all night and I can no longer play.

suggestions?

Windows 8.1
nVidia GTX760

Are you using the latest version of the repair tool? If so as much as i hate to say it try uninstalling and reinstalling the game, it sounds like something has gotten messed up pretty good.

yay... more issues with the new map file!

Installation stops as its finalizing.

Uninstalling again leaves behind the file "MechFactory_ig.pak" 9.04MB in size.
Deleting it gets the error 0x80070570. As a result it cant be moved, renamed or deleted.
So I cant reinstall the game, which is gutting as I just bought the Wave 2 pack.

VERY VERY unhappy lady here now!

Time to walk away back to Warthunder.

ok... semi sorted.

Solution after finding I couldn't touch the corrupted file... have the fresh install of the game go to a new folder and not the default folder with the ruined file in it.

Seems to work as the game loads now.

File corruption is bad... that could be the result of bad memory or the hard drive going bad.

You may want to consider doing some tests though to be sure.

What do you mean by couldnt touch the corrupted file? as if it is just permissions that is easy, but if windows errors saying cant read or something then start backing up that drive and get a new one ASAP as it means it is on its last legs.

Still doesn't mean that the drive is healthy. If you know what kind of drive it is go to their web site and download their tools to check it just incase.

Could very well just be a bad part. Definitely run some diagnostics (AVG PCTuneup is awesome, you can try it for free for two weeks, and it's got a great disc-check utility). You should also be able to run a mem-test in your PC's BIOS.

Thats good, it only take a bit of your time to save a lot of headaches :) I have been building boutique computers for over 10 years and every now and again you do hit a bad part brand new in the package. It sucks, especially when the client already has it but fortunately there are more tools out there now that can diagnose the problem(s).
