do the clan uac's do full damage each round? Clan UAC5 fires 3 rounds with each trigger pull, does that amount to 15 damage if they are all on target?

Of course not.

Each projectile deals 1.67 damage.

Clan AC´s suck except when boated.
My Direwolf is the only Clan mech i equip Clan AC´s on.

they are not worthless but in the end they can only be used efficiently in close quarter brawls. With doubletap you can boost your DPS a bit that can help in knife fight range.

but anything moving beyond 100m will just twist the damage away.

But an ULTRA AC is supposed to vomit out double the amount of shells for 2X the damage. So a Clan UAC should fire 6 slugs doing 1.6 damage per slug. So Clanners can hit us with UP TO 10 damage from a UAC5. And so on up to a possible 40 damage from a UAC20.


No wonder the UAC20 felt like crap!

UAC-20 is capable of dealing out 40 damage every 4 seconds, thats not crappy.

How often do you see them equipped on anything? Dires don't even run them. And besides a Dire carrying 4-6 acs, ever see a clan ac on anything? Unless the other mech is shutdown, cornered, or 100m from you ACs are about like firing a 1000m small laser lol

Well the world is safe if that many peole can't lead and trace the uac shots effectively jut like most can't aim with gauss rifles.

No.... just no. Even the best players in the world don't get 100% of a large laser's damage on CT at range on a moving target. This is the same for clan ACs.

I'm not sure when people got this backwards idea that point damage was no longer king of everything, but it is. As has been stated here nobody uses clan ACs aside from Dire Wolves because the weapons are terrible. The only reason it works on Dire Wolves is because ACs generate less heat than dumping that same amount of tonnage into LPL, ER PPC, or other reliable clan energy weapons.

PS: welcome to the world of clan weapon balance as dictated by 2 OP mechs, and the people that have never played them or any clantech.

They are no better than a laser. Damage can be easily spread, the weight of just 1 Ac weapon can be replaced with 6 lasers + a number of heatsinks. Offering more damage, no ammo, and ability to have in different locations so not to be weaponless if loosing an arm.

Not the same as a 1 shot hit = 20 as IS. Not a great weapon system despite how well your aim is IMO.

If I use a Clan AC, its an LBX....They seem to be pretty damn deadly at close range.

My AC20 does it in 5... front loaded. Yes the Clan weapon IS crappy.

what i like about c-uac10 is that until it jams it is shooting rounds non stop, effectively blinding your target (unless gyros)
