One of the things I miss most about the older Mech games was the ability to customize the different HUD sections. The one that I found most useful was the waterfall version of the damage display.

While the current rag doll display can work fairly well. From a personal point of view I always thought the waterfall gave a more accurate readout on damage done to a Mech.

Mind I do love the game, I just wish there was a bit more customization to the HUD layout. This is one of the minor ones I would like to see eventually.

Others:

Min-map/RADAR placement:
Would like to have this moved to the upper left corner. While having the unit info in that place is handy having all the vital information along the bottom is actually less then ideal. It puts too much information flow at one point of view.

Having this shift along with putting the Lancemate names under it means it is easier to pick out where your buddies are and who is still up.

Also it would allow a free space for something that is much needed.

A rear view. Being able to see behind a mech as it backs up would be handy, it would also help with crossing issues.


Min-map scaling:

Without a rear view the ability to scale the min-map would be great. As is, locked at it's current scale, once you get into a brawl or close combat the min-map becomes useless at figuring out where you and your buddies are in relation to the enemy. Sure this is generally not an issue, but it can be when you also lose all terrain features under a pile of red and blue arrows.

Compass scaling:

The last item would be scaling of the compass numbers. As they are they tend to be a bit hard to read at a glance. Being able to quickly give a bearing and range to a contact would be helpful on the larger maps when a contact is well outside the grid squares you can see. One way to correct this is to have the bearing numbers for where the the center point of view is fixed be a different color.
