I know this subject has been touched on before, but I was hoping Russ or Paul could please give an update on the matter.

There is a lot of talk about making 12 man teams formed out of multiple groups more competitive. There was a poll out for removing game mode selection. I truly believe that allowing teams that drop together a better chance then typing to coordinate would make the out come better. It is not the fix all, but a huge improvement. Maybe VOIP was never met to be, but neither was third person or coolant flushes. Not all players are on TS3 and while in a players que it would take forever to try and coordinate to a specific channel or TS3 address. This has probably been discussed by the Devs somewhere but after searching all I could come up with were topics from last year.

+1

Dropping in small group now, it's very similar to pug games.... impossible to coordinate.

Please, give us lance drop, or voip.

They should work out a deal with Curse Voice.

http://beta.cursevoice.com

Smite was giving out Free Gems for each person who signed up a while back, which is how I found out about it. Since then, I've used it quite a bit and prefer it to other VOIP cause I don't need to remember or save servers. Good quality as well, very light weight. They could do something similar with MC. Also, it makes a new server each time you join a match, or you can just keep the same one if you're in a party together. Likewise, when you enter a match, it automatically detects if any other players are using it and gives you the option to join chat with them. It has a small, unobtrusive overlay within the client.

Two cents.

I'm someone who is uncomfortable with speaking. Short tongue, I stutter often, and speak far too quickly. I feel much better when I can communicate quickly through text, or an image.

If we don't get voice, could we at least get hotkeys for G Rated messages to players?

A Request for support, broadcast to your lance/team, which gives your current location and the target you're locked onto?

Complimenting your opponent for a well performed kill?

As a pug player, I would love to have integrated VOIP. I know not everyone would use it but even if 3 people on my team decided to use it, the coordination would be vastly improved.

Commo rose is probably lostech too, especially contextual (like in WoT, where available commands depend on your crosshairs being pointed at enemy, ally or elsewhere).
