Relax, you are getting plenty lately... So chill...

Too many ungrateful people lately. Enough challenges, progress and free stuff lately and a quick fix to keep the game running gets villagers trying to burn down the village... CALM DOWN !

Who wants to bet that they were patching the bash bug :) ... any idea if the game servers run on some variant of linux?

I would guess it was the data center not them. My money's on a patch for the Bash Bug. Pretty sure they use LINUX boxes.

Not sure why you did this during prime time.

I disagree, I paid for mine and the servers have gone down a few times this week during prime time. Compensation would be the right thing to do

I haven't played for long, about a month, but someone need to explain to me why patches and hotfix are done every time during pacific and eastern peak period. That's the weirdest thing I ever saw for an online game.

Just a thought....
Could you guys bring back the in game(in match) warning before you kill the servers? That was a nice touch and gave a heads up to people that are not actively trolling the forums

Pretty sure an hour of downtime is worth about one penny.

Not an ideal time for a server fix but eh, premium time lost during short downtime is miniscule.

Was this to fix the fact that the game crashes on me, literally every time I get the new map?

I was a little bummed... it was the first time I seen the new map since the patch when the servers dropped.

Oh well, glad to have fixes that help on the back end with servers.

possible, the manager frenzy today about this 'heartbleed level' (yes, that's what we're using now to describe these things) was interesting to watch.

Bash is just an executable - the patch doesn't take the box down, it simply either replaces or recompiles it. OSX was a little more work, but not much.

Just got done patching a little over 100 boxes today.
