you could always read all of the novels to get a good perspective from a few of the differing sides. It takes a good chunk of time but I managed it in about 6 months of semi-serious reading.

Getting access to the novels is the hard part. Not everyone is able to just get all the books.

Go for Ebooks. You can basically read it all for free.

Google epubbud and search Battletech you can find almost all the classic novels there.

Many have already started our Mechs. We do prefer speed and firepower. Strike hard and fast like the mighty namesake. Due to CGB perfecting the art of asteroid mining in the pentagon worlds and Kerensky cluster CGB have always had an abundance of resources. This allowed us to acquire what we needed easily. As we had a string steady source of resources, Ghost Bear always had their pick of Mechs. We tend to use Mechs a weight class up. Ie: Viper is out light, Mad Dog our medium and Executioner our heavy.

Is this list from the invasion era, or later?

For the up coming community warfare. Has your group picked which current and available mech's are most likely going to make up your group?

Please look at my list of owned and mastered mechs . Not sure if I would fit in your group.

GBs are the only ones with a clue as they have aligned themselves with the Clan Universal Taxi service... Clan Snow Raven

I agree that Ghost Bear is as close as a Raven can get at the moment. They are as closely allied as Clans tend to get in the lore.

You guys helped us build our Leviathan's to get settled in our new holdings, so we gave you a bunch of our clan space holdings as a thank you.

"Do you not understand the nature of the Bear? For months he sleeps in hibernation, but do not dare disturb him. The Bear's anger is unforgiving when provoked. The Ghost Bears did poorly in the invasion, yet look at them now. Strong and whole where others have been broken and destroyed..."

"How could they be so blind? An attack on Alshain would rouse the sleeping bear, and there would be blood to pay."

-Nova Cat Mech Warrior Zane, "PATH OF GLORY," BattleTech 54
