An Inner Sphere purist, no more.

Today, I loaded up some empty mechbays with Direwolves.

And it was glorious.

I was die-hard Hell's Horses in MWLL and was just waiting for Clans to come around in MWO. But I can't bring myself to do it. I get instagibbed by them so often I feel like it would cheapen the experience to give in to the meta. I've been that way about all of the controversial mechs though. Never bought a 3L, never bought a pop-tart (until they could no longer pop), only occasionally boated LRMs (if I was getting uber-pissed at repeated concentrated meta-death).

I probably won't pick anything up until they get nerfed to the point of being ineffective. Yay me.

And then you get left behind by your team and obliterated. 15x in a row. Then you will get lurmed to death because why the heck would your ECM lights cover the big boys. Then you will get stormed by two UAC/20 Mechs and ripped to pieces. And then, after all this suffering, you will get one game where you position yourself perfectly and your DPS kills 4-6 people. That feeling of accomplishment will fade, though, because you will visit the forums only to read that those 4-6 people post in topics about how DW is op and easy mode.

Keep that enthusiasm while it lasts :-)

I'll take a stock mech with no efficiencies of any kind with a strong team, than a fully kitted, custom mech with a bunch of random terribads.

But that's just me.

Really, I find my Dire Wolfs boring as hell to play. Pod forward, shoot at anything the walks in front of you, pod forward again, hope an enemy light doesn't see you ploding forward, plod forward again, hope that no one targets you will LRMs, plod forward, shoot at anything in front you you, plod forward...OH CRAP there is a Jenner behind me...DEAD.

39 drops with DW ATM, died due to being left behind only twice (I had to answer the door in one of those matches), and I really do not remember the time my DW died to LRMs (mostly it is due to lasers and Gauss). Methinks you comment is too exaggerated. ;)

Only major drawback of DW is its steep price tag. Spent 23 million pimping out the first one, and I just finished grinding 8 million of 17.5 mil for another one. Talk about a chore, but I am still resolved not to give PGI cash unless CW is delivered in full.

or a hamib

when I take out my Dire Whale, I pick a point on the map that I -think- the enemy team will be, and that I -think- the pugs will be, and then just walk there. Generally speaking, I pick correctly. Sometimes I'll be the only one there, but the pugs will be ahead of me battling it out and the enemy flank is exposed to me.

Occasionally I'll just get ripped to pieces by the enemy team, but I tend to take one or two of them with me if they get infront of me.

One game I killed three direwolves in my stalker (just kidding, I did most of the damage to one and a little damage to a second that my team was focusing on, then died and spectated someone else killing a third) but it was no good because there were MORE DIREWOLVES and they killed everyone.

12 direwolf teams are OP!

Yea, but that second account is only for his dealings with the Great Bear, so in essence a separate character.

I figured it would've been a FWL character... you know one of the S.A.F.E. operatives running around in Lyran space...
