So the Devs are on record as saying that MASC scares them and, in a way, I see why. The TT rules are very well set up for a boardgame but very hard in real time and in this video game. So, I have a few ideas.
Firstly, since if programming is an issue (particularly if it is the same as why we got the tiered Targeting computers not linked to weapon sizes) then we can simply limit MASC to chassis/omnis that come with it. This stops having to program new mechs recieving it and also helps balancing against new super fast mech builds we don't already know.
Secondly, instead of having actuators blowing our or having to establish some kind of mechanism to permanently slow a MASC-equiped mech just add in a lava-like effect. I don't remember the heat % but if your heat is higher than that in lava then your legs melt. IDR if it starts with internal structure but on MASC-equiped mechs have that effect start internally.
Lastly, and building off the last point, you add additional heat for using MASC (this could be a nerf to add later if MASC is game-breaking). It can be just 1 heat (so like 1 for walking, 2 for running, 3 for MASCing) or it can be higher if need be.
Those were my thought, what do you guys think?

From what I understand (correct me if wrong), the concerns with MASC involve the actual speeds that the 'mechs would be capable of. Right now the netcode only allows speeds of around 171kph before the server starts rubberbanding the 'mech. A few of the 'mechs with MASC would exceed this cap and as such there's no way to implement them without castrating them.
That said, I don't see why we can't have the CTF variant with MASC, the PXH, the Executioner, etc.
The Firemoth and Flea are understandly on backburner.

Ah, I hadn't heard that was the specific reason. Yeah, if they restrict it to the mechs that come with it they coudl have that CTF variant and the Executioner. But there are some nice mechs with MASC... maybe we could just apply the lost tonnage to engine size of the variants? >.>

They are not going to change the stock loadouts.
The options for adding it right now are: Add it working and lock it with Mechs that don't break the limit on speed or add it not doing anything at all, like the Command Concole.
