B variant.

Because 1 more laser is always better :D

(and throw prime arms on it)

You might start with the B variant, for the only available CT mounted hardpoint for Dire Wolves and the ballistic heavy torsos.

You'll also want the Prime arms most likely, so that's also a consideration.

The A variant I'd leave for last, unless you want to run missiles.

Load out is going to be personal preference but here are the two primary loadouts I run.

DWF-Prime

DWF-B

3 Builds in contention depending on your playstyle/skill level.

I'll go from easier to harder. Easier is also less effective as your opponent's skill levels increase.

1. Boat LRMs/SRMs/SSRMs and lasers.

2. Boat UAC5s.

3. High Alpha, Gauss/ERPPC/Laser.

The common factor is all the builds need a team behind you. If you get abandoned, you're doomed.

torsos, arms, legs and head are omnipods you can buy pods off the other variants so that you can have the hard points where you want them. They are referring to the DWF-Prime variant's arms.

You can find this in the mech lab under loadout, select desired location then click omnipod

This is what I do, except I pieced all mine together in random order. Same basic builds tho.

Emphasis on the bold text.

Really, what reason is there not to use this? I hope you like your King Crabs with butter. :D

EDIT: Okay, I'm sorry, apparently this was not clearly jokey enough? I guess? You can stop telling me it's a terrible build now.

Well, everyone will go berserk when they spot your DWF and your team will not back you up most of the time, so what will you do about it? That's what you should be planning for. To get pancaked every battle and you can't protect the CT. You basically have to overpower everyone so much they back-off or are cut down. Prime arms, variant side torsos as you like.

The DWF is just a walking turret, it doesn't maneuver. Hang back and........ you will figure it out.

Terrible ammo count, and insane heat punishment? Put at least a couple energy weapons in there. If you alpha even once with just the ACs, and UAC, you will hit over 75 heat.

Your effective range is 330 meters, which coupled with your slow speed, makes the mech very under-performing.

Omni mechs (clan mechs) can swap their limbs around. For example, my KFX-Prime, has the right arm of the KFX-C, and the side torsos of the KFX-S.

That's what people were talking about. Strap the arms of the Prime variant on the DWF-B variant.

When you get a clan mech, you will have "omnipods" for your limbs and torsos. You can switch them out for the other variants parts for Cbills to get more hardpoints or quirks.

I suggest Prime last, since Prime is most likely to be made a Trial option, allowing you to maximize XP gain across all variant by starting with the other two as your first purchases, and running the Prime as Trial (once it's available) for the first win double XP.

This is the pattern I recommend for the Uller and Blackhawk as well (and the Thor if it gets a Trial Prime).

Ultra 20s can't use that AC/20 ammo you have on there.

3 Ultra 20s with the right ammo works better.

Something more like this DWF-PRIME

While you do have a point, it still wouldn't work. You will overheat, miss most of your shots and run out of ammo before you do any useful amount of damage.
