Will this monitor make a difference for MWO? It's a UHD.

Greetings,

That monitor is well into the 4K resolution and an excellent 1ms refresh. But be careful as it only allows for two sets of input.
- Connectivity: 2x HDMI (30Hz), 1x DisplayPort (60Hz)

The display port is the only 60hz (standard) plugin so you may need an adapter for some video cards. (if they don't have that port and only come with one of 2 types of DVI)
- Although quite a few of the newer cards are starting to include the DP extension, but always a good idea to confirm.
- The HDMI port splits the digital video and audio so your getting the additional audio but the monitor doesn't have speakers so wasted bandwidth.

You'll find that there are very few areas where the true 4K can actually be used, even the high Def. channels are not providing 4K yet. And MWO is no where near ready for that level of fidelity.
- Karl has mentioned that they do have game files ready in the 1K level but hasn't offered if they can be downloaded or even used in the game we have at present.
(he even eluded to there being 4K files somewhere!)

As long as your monitor is at least 21inch, 60Hz, and at 2ms or less refresh, it's fine for MWO. Any monitor that includes speakers I find your paying more for normally poor quality speakers, so best to forgo the built-in speakers and go for the higher quality display specs.
- You'll start to see quite a few 4K monitors being offered on the market now with more due later this year, BUT there's a whole new technology arriving that may jump over this 4K offering. The new OLED monitors are starting to make there way into the market now, still very expensive but fully capable of exceeding the 4K limitations. And they can be curved and very large with less power requirements and viewable in bright rooms.
- On a similar note, the 4K experience is quite breathtaking, nearly 4 times the rendering of conventional displays. But if the originating source can't offer that resolution your wasting the monitor with lower potential.

Note: I run 3 ASUS 247H-P 24inch displays through DVI.

Just my opinion,

I have the 28UD590, you will need SERIOUS firepower to run it at native.

But it is a very nice display, good view angles. You WILL have to adjust the colors to get it right though.

I have the 28UD590 (game mode) and run MWO at 4K all settings off/low.

This rig:
R9 290 non reference Visiontek - air cooled
i7-4790K (not overclocked - turbos to 4.4 during play) liquid cooled X61 Kraken.
Z97 motherboard
SSD
Windows 8.1

Works very well.
