I don't meet the specs to play the game even on the lowest of the low end. My rig ( which is a labtop ) just is not powerful enough to run the game. So with that said should I buy a founders pack knowing it will be a few months before I can get a better computer?

I keep going back and forth on this need advice.

Honestly, if you really want it and know you'll be able to get the new computer then I would. That way you get the perks and don't miss out.

I would put the money toward a new computer. You'll need it to enjoy the game, no amount of Founders Mechs will be enjoyable if the game won't run on your computer.

My only concern would be when the premium month started. Unless they come and state that your free months subscription wont start until you actually log in.

I'd just wait. Use the money to get your better computer earlier - it's not like you won't be able to play a FREE game when you do. I'm sure they'll have new promotional packs occasionally as well.

Also as has been stated they didn't say anything about when the premium membership would start, so play it safe.

No, the fewer people buy one, the higher the chance of the rest of us to be admitted into closed beta 2. :)

Seriously though, do what you think is right, just remember you probably won't have fun playing MWO if your computer's specs are too low.

If they can manage to delay your premium sub activation to your first log-in into the game instead of on a fixed date, then it shouldn't be a problem. If they can't and you don't mind missing out on your sub (but still getting the in-game cash and mechs) then it's fine too.

Because we don't yet know if there will be a way to delay your premium account from starting, I would probably hold off myself. Putting that money toward getting your hardware upgrade sooner would seem better, and then once you are in-game you can save toward some in-game purchases. That's my two cents :)

How much cash do you have to spare? Get a refurbished office core2duo system, minimum e8400, buy a graphics card min HD 6670 and a 4GB dual channel memory kit and you will exceed the min specs by a chunk and for a couple of hundred $$$'s. These office pc's will have an oem serial key for windows vista business edition and can be reinstalled with a 64bit vista business retail dvd.

Put your money toward a computer that can run the game.

I sympathize with your plight but it sounds as if you have to choose one or the other and I side with those saying to upgrade your computer. The main reason being that you wont get to take advantage of the premium months since those have a set date to start.

Also its a F2P game so imho you should be playing not wishing you could. There will be other packages offered that you can take advantage of.

Your choice, I do not know your situation, but alot of things could happen between now and then that could cost you money. Car break down, accident, repairs, ect... this could delay your purchase or stop it completily.

Make sure your priorities are in order first in RL, then worry about a game.

If you are a fanboi, yes. If you are a rational gamer who has half a brain, you will wait since there is not enough evidence to make an informed decision.

Its your money. Old timers like myself have spent our fair share of money over the years for the very reasons your contemplating over now. IMHO only you can answer your own question. All depends on your funds and your chosing to buy a new computer and founders.

Thanks everyone I do think I will wait. I like the Idea of the founders title, perks and gear, but the founders Mechs are honestly aren't the Mech's that I would want to pilot anyway. So for those that will be in the fight a head of me regardless of your faction "Good Hunting".

Oh when the game goes Live or when the Beta starts, those who pilot the Cataphract, Centurion, or a Commando. Let me know how they handle and any good mods.
