Looking at all the dev posts/pics/vids it seems the Hunchback is the main money grinder

So I don't know about you guys, but the current build seems to be sporting a lot of Hunchback action. As a medium with some decent hardpoints, I'm starting to think that this thing is becoming a good c-bill earner. Cheap to repair, but can dish out some serious hurt.

Or if you'd like to be more subtle than a sledgehammer you could always go with the trebuchet. Two lrm15's capable of indirect fire won't need to hit you twice to hurt.

But I completely agree, mediums will most likely be where it's at with this game.

I think that of the mechs shown, it has alot of potential. But I still chose the atlas for my founders package, even though I dont think I will play it much, just so I dont have to buy it. Ill have an assault mech available to me, but yeah light and medium mechs are calling to me (unless they add the warhammer, then that all day erry day).

What do you like so much about the Warhammer? There are lots of mechs that sport two PPC's so it has to be more than that I'd assume?

I like the warhammer because I am a robotech and old school battletech fan. It has alot more history then most mechs in the game.

Ooooh good answer. I only end up liking mechs based on how well they fit my play style. I don't really keep a favorite mech long generally.

Mediums were always my favorite mechs. My favorite mech is a medium 55 tonner: Scorpion - a great direct fire support/ anti scout mech.

These posts are staying to irk me. And just how do you know they will be cheap to repair how do you know it will cost less to repair this mech than an atlas? What if the huntchback was the most expensive of all the mechs to repair you don't know no one knows I don't even think the devs know. Stop assuming things.

We're extrapolating on known data and common sense, every videogame (even the ones that didn't care about fitting into the battletech universe) has had repairbills scale based on size, it's in cannon, and TT rules. The dev's have hinted that the medium mech is going to be the workhorse of this game and that they are cheaper to run. Lower costs = more money brought home.

he could get this idea based on the loadout.....more then hunchback weight in armor and weapons is definitly more expansive to repair .... thats no rocket science

I'm probly going to use a Centurion most of the time, even though I got the ledgendary founders pack.

(Fumes over not being able to turn founders Hunchie into the Swayback!)

This is essential correct, except you will have proportionall risk vs reward. Cost are less for lights, but you make less money. Costs are high for assault, so you make more money. The net yield after repairs is going to be similar.

Non one class will make NET CB faster.

So it may not be the "grind" Mech, but it will be cheaper to repair then the big guys. I think the big difference will be the "Oh ****, Atlas!" factor causing many pilots to not focus on a medium as their primary target that will give Mechs like the Hunchback their biggest advantage.

Someone probably already said this since it the obvious and already said answer.

There are only a handful of Mechs and variants in the game. Hunchback and jenner where what they added first.

mediums are the most well rounded in terms of combat, heavies are a bit more on the killy side of things, and assaults are like that cousin you don't want at your birthday party but your parents invited him anyway
