Hello all,

as you can see in the title, I am wondering what could be the cause?

Could you share some light on the matter?

Thanks

MechWarrior Credits Reward
This reward is for anyone who has ever purchased MechWarrior Credits. Eligible players will receive an exclusive new Centurion variant - the CN9-AH - decked out with a custom paint job, along with a 30% C-bill Bonus and a free Mechbay. This custom CN9-AH variant will only be available through our MechWarrior Credits Reward program and will be injected into eligible accounts on October 21st. You have until Sept 23rd at 10:00 am PDT to earn the MechWarrior Credits Reward. Founders packages that included MechWarrior Credits qualify for this reward. Standard versions of this new variant will be available for C-Bills at a future date to be determined.

In January there was a challenge where you got a Centurion for 5 wins. It seems many people stack up XP on this and a third variant in advance. Did it also myself.

They're getting ready for the day when AC-20 on a centurion is possible again without spending MC for it :D

Centurions are actually pretty fun to play.
+ great zombie terror :D

I was never much of a Centurion fan (always preferred hunchbacks), but with the free Champion Centurion I received from an earlier challenge, plus the new Centurion I'm getting from the loyalty reward, I might as well play them and level up the Cents.

Maybe others feel the same, so you are seeingseeing a lot of people starting to dust off their Cents.

CN-9D can be loads of fun if you put a huge XL in it and go skirmishing around the battlefield.

It's a decent medium mech and one of my favorites. That's why I still play it all the time, especially my YLW.

With point damage falling from popularity and SRMs being effective again, we have a rapid rise in close range brawling. Centurion never stopped being great at close range brawling, it was just that the previous game balance made brawling in general extremely weak.

They stopped sucking once SRMs were brought back. Even before then, FAST Centurions were pretty effective as long as you didn't stand still. Made great light-hunters.

4 for the faster reload time, without Artemis. The 4 grouping is already small enough without it, usually you want Artemis on the 6 but not the four. Use the extra tons for move speed.

its because some IS players are learning that extreme firepower is not the answer to countering Clan mechs,

Still trying to work out a 1:1 between my HBK-4G and a DWF in my unit.

Because they are good?

Because they look bad ass?

Because they kick a lot of ass?

Because they can take a beating like a frat house pledge?

Do you need me to go on?

Because is a great mech that can zombie really well or get vitamins with a XL and run at the time that breaks some havok to small and heavy mechs.
Apart you have the YLW which say hello with a AC/20 in a high mobile platform.
But in short: is fun to play!
