Even though MWO is obviously going for an all-online experience, I still think it would be good to have the option to practice offline (or test mech customizations and control configurations) against AI opponents/bots through an instant action / practice mode. In fact, Instant Action was a staple of the second, third and fourth MechWarrior games so I would be fairly surprised if it didn't make an appearance in MWO.

Further, it would be nice to have a base of sorts where you can go out back and practice your maneuvers with or without your lance-mates.

This is a pretty solid idea. I'd love to be able to tune up my skill, or test new weapon loadouts in a private test match by myself before going online.

Most likely that something like that would be available. Everyone (with sense =P ) will want to test their mechs and stuff !
