So this is my whining Thread about whining !

There are so many people who start whining about everything....

... That mech is not balanced it can do this or that... its just imba !
... The Clans are overpowerd NERF THEM ! (they are supposed to be stronger with advanced weaponry)
... I cannot play on this or that map because its not balanced (how the hell can environment be balanced????) !
... The Mech so and so is crap because its getting to hot !

etc.
etc.
etc.

Because of this whining going around we have a game which is getting broken bit by bit.

THIS IS A WARGAME !!!!

Imagine the US just for example tries to fight an enemy but before that they send their nemy a letter "lets meet there, the tempreture is not to hot and not to cold so our soldiers wont have to sweat or to freeze, our tanks run perfectly there because their is no dust and its a flat surface.
And don't bring better weapons than ours its unbalanced, you would be overpowered and its unfair."

This is a wargame and war is unbalanced ! You will need SKILL to win and not GOD who will balance or nerf everything.

So people STOP WHINING ABOUT EVERYTHING !
because of you the game gets broken and more unbalanced.
The Battletech Rulebooks can be found in the Internet please read them and you will find reasonable rules in it.

And PGI stop nerfing everything to the ground try to stick more to the Rules of Battletech and the technologie what was created !
Try to fix the matchmaking to clan vs IS to 10 vs 12 or 15 vs 20.
This should be easier then nerfing and Quirking and fixing and ghostheating and fixing it back and nerfing again and so on so on and on.
Please listen to the community witch has real suggestions and advices and not to the whiners who dont know a thing about battletech.
There are several people includng me who suggested a battlevalue matchmaking? It would be the best balance system you can get!

For the love to Battletech!

Switch every stats back to the begining and start over again you changed to much and it got out of line. Sometimes its better to start again when you don't see where you wanted to go because you have to fix the damages you have done earlier.

Thank you !

Let the flaming begin!

To OP.

Not evey post that disagrees with you personal point of view on this game is considered whining.

Some do whine, but many bring up balancing concerns and possible solutions (whether popular by some or not). When it isn't popular, it is often called whining, almost ad an attempt to discredit a potential solution.

I noticed a large portion of this is about Clan balance. As much as I like following lore, vastly superior Clan mechs and tech don't work in a PvP multiplayer game like the one we have. For a game like this, different but equal is a much better approach.

It helps make it desirable to play either side. Remember, Community Warfare isn't fun if 90% of the people pick the far superior clans and a Clan is walking on Terra within a few months if CW launch lol.

I hope my differing opinion doesn't strike you as whining. It is just pointing out the obvious flaws in a superior clan situation. Its important not to break the game entirely.

So what about skilled players in Clan mechs? Should they be able to win against equally skilled IS pilots because they're using OP Clan tech?

Like you said, this is a game. It's not a hardcore Battletech simulation. This is a game where people play against each other and you have to have balance to make sure it's fun. If it was a single player game, sure, have your ridiculously OP 'Mechs and mow down waves after waves of AI 'Mechs. Nobody cares.

Though if you're moving down actual people(=customers for PGI) in your OP Clan 'Mechs(which are not available unless you pay), then there is a problem.

If you still don't agree, I have nothing to say but this:

NERF NERFS!
Whenever nerfs happen they always are too much - so I propose that nerfs should be nerfed! What's say, 50%?

It won't be long before this thread is on its way to K-Town.

A sort of PGI quirk? PGI receives a 50% reduction in nerf severity during any one patch.

Well I think I made a mistake in not thinking about money making.

I just thought about the love to the game.

And all this is not just about the Clan balancing its about whining about everting and even about maps that are "not balanced"

I' am just a casual player and I get a kill here and there but I'am not crying that my mech cannot kill everyone.

I learn how to go along with my mech and see what enemies I can take down and not.

Ever since the town hall and Russ' aggressive community engagement on the forums, the amount of whine has been significantly overshadowed by fairly decent and respectful discussion. I've been visiting more recently than in the past few months specifically because the QQ and vitriol has dropped.

This may be your feelings, but when you post with a Ghost Bear logo and a masakari decal complaining about clan nerfs and how clan mechs should be a lot better than the IS mechs and the IS pilots should just suck it up, what you look like to the world is equiavalent to an able-bodied athlete complaining they can't sign up for special olympics.

There's a reason BT switched from tonnage to the point system. Because 200 tons of 3025 IS tech is not the same as 200 tons of 3058 clan tech. You may dream for clubbing seals, but it doesn't make for a game where the seals appreciate it, or who pay for the privilege, or who every play again. You may occasionally feel validated by jumping into your seal mech and having a few out, but when you switch back "for my comp game", it pretty well just looks hypocritical or patronizing then.

I purchased founders when it came out, but when closed beta opened, I tried the game for a few matches and it was pretty terrible. So I shelved it for later. Later started a few weeks ago. Now I've played TT BT on and off for quite some time. I've even played BT in the old FASA offices while they were testing some things. I like Battletech. That said, coming back after a few years, and after the clan release, I have considerably more positive things than negative things to say about the changes to the mechs, 3/3/3/3 etc. (though not the MM). It may not be canon, but it's gone a long way to make the game actually playable and not some power-creeping nightmare. The spirit of BT is in the game, but a lot of the terrible design decisions have been mitigated.

There's a reason FASA got closed and BT got transfered and rebooted, and it wasn't because classic BT was the bastion of great design.
