I keep getting most damage on my team in my LCT-1V(P). It has an ERLL and 4MGs with a half ton of ammo. Why am I being punished? WHAT DID I DO BASED MM GODS?

Not even saying I did great, 500 damage isn't amazing. I was just hoping my 400 ton assault lance would have at least 1 person do more than me...

500 damage in a locust is fairly good. Be glad you can do that much, though some people can't even break 100 in a jaggermech.

I realize for a locust it's good, but come on why did I just top my team in damage 3 games in a row? Do we still have different MM rankings for different weight classes?

I oddly do the same in lights like the MLX.

I keep putting that down to the fact I have low Elo in lights relative to my other classes. So it looks like I am boss because my team mates set a low standard to beat, compounded by the fact that the reason I look boss is because the enemy skill is also lower than what I am used to playing against, hence inflated looking performance.

Probably because you were staying back and sniping with your single ERLL while your team was getting shot at, and dying. If you had piloted a brawler Light that can take advantage of lag shield and sow chaos among the enemy ranks--something the other team might have done--then your team probably could have taken advantage of enemy confusion and done better. Probably.

Waiting time for assults yesterday was 2+ minutes and 15-20 seconds for lights, which means assualts could've been fairly mismatched.

If your team doesn't support each other, they can/will die often and quickly.

That assault lance, if your entire team moves and leaves them behind, and the enemy attacks them while they are alone and/or from behind, that assault lance quickly dies. This deprives you of most of your weapons and armor for your team quickly.

This is often caused by people who move faster doing "the spiral" around the map, and not paying attention to their assault mechs, or any other teammate's position.

In a Locust, you have better speed and better survivability in this case, if this is what the team does. With an ERLL, you can poke people at range.


Now, what I'm about to say next is not a directed (or intended) insult at anyone person.

Sometimes, one can preform well by numbers, be a great player, but be a very lousy teammate. Some people may preform 800+ damage matches, but ditch their entire team. This may leave them to running around and slowly being eaten one at a time into the enemy team.

This is often the problem with sniper style mechs, often of note the Raven 3L with ECM and dual ERLLs as one example. They often hide alone taking pop shots at the enemy from long ranges, often splashing it all over the entire enemy team/mech. Meanwhile, their team is down one mech for tanking some damage/distracting. This causes those Ravens (or similar styled mech) to deal high amounts of damage to the enemy, but sometimes not be overly helpful to the team.


I'm not saying if this is or is not happening to the OP, as I was not in those matches. But it "could" be something to consider. Talking to your team also can help, such as reminding them to protect and group onto the assaults and to move together. Even if you are going to be that annoying sniper support light mech (as mentioned above). If your team starts to group up a bit more, especially onto the assaults, then your sniping can be more beneficial to the team.

Theres something called Team Elo. That forces you if the time has come to loose and loose by giving your team noobs and newbees

This does not sound correct. Not by how I understand Elo at least... Yes, it will sometimes set up matches that you "aren't suppose to win" by Elo score, but it doesn't set up matches with the intent to "make you lose" either...

MM and Elo are not evil and plotting entities. They are unbiased computer programs... :ph34r:

I have matches were I see things like that:
Atlas: 48 dmg dealt
DW: 18 dmg dealt

Don't ask me what they do or how they can get themselves killed so fast /sigh

Weight based drops would be preferable at this point.

The Space Pope prays for the day he can have decent teammates and good opponents consistently, he would rather start waiting 10 minutes for match and have good ELO matches instead of this bastardized compromise we have now.

It's not hard to do well, but it's annoying to have to carry teammates who can't seem to understand the most basic of concepts (not to say there is anything wrong with being new, but it sucks when the matchmaker decides that you can compensate for 8+ bad teammates against an 8 man of good players).

Please keep in mind what people you are talking about with this request. These are the same people who whine and complain that they had to wait 60 seconds for people to "ready up", thus it got changed to 60 seconds until everyone loaded into the match and then it changes to 10 seconds (or something).

Do you think these people could wait 10 minutes (600 seconds) just to form a group for a match?

Not much, just failed to run fast enough in NASCAR race. If the assault lance does near zero damage, the you previously left them alone. The only other option is LRM shower with spotter behind your backs. But fighting scouting lights in assaults... well, still a bad idea.

Its simple. They ran into a group of enemy alone. It happens often when the faster players move out of support range of teh slower.
