Like Nova-S and Nova-B?
Keep them or sell them?

Is there any reason to keep the allready for C-Bills buyeble chasis?

Use them for potted plant holders in your living room.

Build them differently to the prime to make life interesting. Besides, some mechs have differing centre torsos. The Nova-S, for example has a AMS in the centre torso which the others don't. In fact, the S is probably the best of the three Novas for this reason.

The Warhawk B has a missile slot, making it the best Warehawk.

Well make sure you get your skill trees complete before you sell anything!

Some clan mechs have different stats on their center torsos, but not many, so some will offer different builds than your Prime(I) variant. Also many people enjoy having multiple configs built and ready to drop.

There is also the possiblity of future changes to the mechs (although generally you'd only need to be concerned about changes to the CT base chassis)

So you can save 3 loadouts at once? And yeah, for the CT configurations, and also so you dont have to buy the thing again later when you secretly regret having sold it.

This is a big one IMO; I almost always sell off the chassis I don't believe I'll keep playing and I've regretted/repurchased enough of them to know it's not the best way to go about it.

I keep all of mine whether or not I have a build for it.

I might have a build for it at some point, and I can earn cbills easily enough and have no issue buying more mechbays whenever I need.

The only reason to sell would be if you can't afford new mechbays for new mechs you want.

Keep in mind the "dropship" mode stuff upcoming where you'll need multiple mechs ready to fight. If you might just want to take 3 Novas in (hopefully assuming they go with tonnage limit not 1/1/1/1) then there you go.

Of course if, like me, you think the Nova's aren't really that great and the prime is the only one worth keeping, then yes, go ahead and sell the others :)

I use non primes for my 'all or nothing' variants. Pure SRM's, ludicrous Dakka, that sort of thing. The sort of builds that aren't optimal, but are fun, and are painted in the most garish colours I have.

Some of them have unique CT hardpoints/quirks (i.e. all Mad Cat have a different CT), so there's that. Keep those ones around for the extra options if you ever feel like it.

Otherwise, you can maybe keep the non-(I) mechs around for the ability to change camo to something other than default.

I hear-tell there's a certain Founder pilot around here who has bought and sold the same Hero mech TWICE....

I know nothing of this.... stop looking at me...

PSA = Don't... sell... Hero Mechs.

Pretty much what Zolas said, I know a lot of guys that keep multiple variants and load them out for specific roles. One for Long Range, One for Brawl, maybe one for LRMS (Depending on the Mech in question).

Hi,

My name is Joker and I have a disease. I keep all my mechs... every variant.

They say I am a mech hoarder. When you enter my house... it's mechs mechs mechs everywhere. One person told me that eventually I'd die from those mechs falling over on me.

I don't care.

I. Must. Have. Them. All.

It's just not worth selling chassis you already have for the price of a module. I try to build 3 very different Mechs, I usually try to build my Primes as decent all-arounders...Some long, short and medium weapons. The other 2 variants I try to specialize.....Long or Short, Sniper or SRM bomber....etc.

I'd hang onto them until quirks come out. If the quirks don't lead to benefits for a play style you like, then sell them.

I run different builds in the variants to add a little variety to the mix.

Ditch the mechs. The mechbays are the only useful thing they are useful for.

You can paint them, and have a large variety of builds. Especially when you have to drop in group queue and want to win (and do not care about cash) having several variants based on what the team needs without having to move engines is very useful.
